About the Delete All Button in the Recycle Bin.
About the Delete All Button in the Recycle Bin.
When pressing the Delete All button in the Recycle Bin, the deletion process fails and an error occurs.
It was an answer to the problem that occurred in the following procedure from Box Support (ticket number: 2694308),
- Among the folders in the parent-child relationship, the child folder is deleted first.
- Delete parent folder after.
- Folders of parent-child relationship are displayed separately in the trash box as different folders.
- In this state, if [Delete All] is pressed, an error occurs.
The Delete All button is not available until you delete the parent-child folders separately.
However, it is easy to delete parent-child content at different timing
To prevent an error from [Delete All], deleting content is difficult.
Therefore, we would like you to change this specification.About the Delete All Button in the Recycle Bin.

Box Mobile - need to "Add Comment" to a photo at time of capture
Need ability to apply a comment or description to a photo when it is taken if "Review photo after capture" setting is on. This was part of Box Capture functionality. With Box Mobile, currently have to take the photo and then navigate to Capture History, then locate photo, open it, select comment, and begin typing - that's a lot of taps :)
Quick access to the File Information - Description would be preferred over Comments because you are able to hover over the "i" tool tip and read whatever text was entered against the image file without having to preview the image on the web app. That's much more useful and efficient than just the comment icon on a file.

tagging/assigning comments on a document (similar to OneDrive)
In One Drive you are able to add comments directly within the document, and tag people/ assign the comment to a person using the @ sign and it will send them a notification.

Ability to preview contents of the files contained in the zip file
Box can list all the folders and files contained in the zip file, however it doesn't allow us to preview the contents of each files contained in the zip file.
We need to download the zip file to preview the contents. It would be better to have ability to preview the contents of the each files so that we can complete our work within Box.

Use Metadata Fields to Rename Files
In Relay, under the Rename outcome, I would like to be able to use fields from a metadata template as pieces to rename the file (and have (2) etc. added to the end of a file name in the case that duplicate names are generated like Windows does).
If a metadata template is part of a file request for a given folder, then I would like the option to use its fields to rename files through a workflow that is trigged when a file is uploaded. For example, when file is uploaded, rename uploaded file to "Submission by 'metadata-first-name' 'metadata-email-address'".

Increase maximum image size for branding a File Request to above 1 MB
Upload limit for Box File Request Company Logo Branding is only 1 MB. This is way too small when the average file size of a smartphone mobile phone camera picture is about 3MB, LinkedIn allows 8 MB and Google allows 5 MB.

Solution: Literally just copy how Google Forms does it...........

Adding a function to manage tasks in BoxDrive
Since we mainly use BoxDrive, we would like to be able to conduct task management from BoxDrive as well.
Specifically, we would like to be able to check the tasks assigned to us and the tasks we have sent from Box Drive, just like "My Tasks List" and "Tasks Inbox" on Box Web.<BoxDrive
4 votes -
Remove Approved Integration API as Suspicious in Shield Suspicious Location
Similar to the pulse below, I would like Shield Suspicious Location to not mark already integrated application IP address as suspicious because there are too many noise due to this.

Enable to see full file name on ipad (especially)
Please enable to see full file name on iPad. We usually name a file long name containing project name and code in order to manage files easier by project. But if do so, we couldn't see full file name by using iPad since the view is similar to the web. This situation is worse for construction field and we hope it will change like moblie view(iPhone's view).

Remove File Size Limit
File sizes only continue to grow as video quality improves due to better technology. Our video teams have some files that are 700 GB or more. We are unable to use Box as a backup solution because of the file size limit.

Allow users to click outside of the Refresh File pop-up box without having to click Cancel or Ok
Currently you can't do anything on the screen without clicking one of the options on the Refresh File pop-up box that appears after editing. 90% of the time, I'm trying to leave that screen and I don't need to see the updated version because I just edited it. If that box could disappear if I click anywhere on the screen, that would be ideal.

Box for Office Logs
Log files are stored with annoying date stamp format. Log files should be stored like BoxExcelLogDate.txt rather than BoxExcelLog.txtdate.

Custom Identifiers that can be seen in user reports
Customer Requests the ability to upload custom identifiers that can be seen when running user reports. Currently they use the user's email address to determine if a license is needed, and when a name change occurs, this creates confusion as it appears that the person may have left and the license is no longer needed.

Folder Under Retention Should Not Be Purged From Trash
When a folder is deleted from trash that contains files under retention policy it causes issues because the files are no longer visible to the customer to recover them. This happens if the trash admin setting is set to purge all trash in a certain time period.

Box Uploader should be also listed as the Box File Owner
It is frustrating to see that the Owner of a Box Folder structure, is listed automatically as the Document Owner. Can this be changed to reflect the Owner as the person who uploaded the file instead. So if there are any questions on files, it goes to the right person, rather than to a Box Folder Owner who actually would have to field and re-direct as appropriate which is not ideal.

Too many clicks to share files + see download activity!
I'm finding it inconvenient that, to share a link once it's uploaded in the web interface, I have to click "Create & Copy Shared Link", then click "Link settings", then click "Copy", then click "Save", then click the X to close the window. That's five clicks just to grab the direct link. It may not seem like much, but it adds up - and I could have sworn it was a faster, more efficient process in earlier versions of Box years ago.
Not only that, but the recent change to the layout of the web interface in terms of seeing if the file has been downloaded is also frustrating. The user has to click on the file, then click "See Details", then click X to go back again. Really, it would be a lot more ergonomic if that info came up automatically in the right hand column once the file was clicked on - so just one click to find out, rather than a total of three.
I mean, it's eight clicks all up to grab the link and then see if it's been downloaded. I can't be the only one who's noticed how un-streamlined this is. And the loss of the "Updates" summary to see which files are being downloaded and by whom is also a frustrating loss of functionality for a customer. Can't we restore the functionality we had in earlier versions of Box, given that we're still paying customers?

Box Sign - Results of filled out fields populate into a CSV.
Results of Bulk Send, Ready Sign, and/or individual contracts populate into a CSV.
E.g. I fill out W9 fields [NAME], [Address], [Social Security #], etc., and these results populate into a CSV.

box sync ignore files
Are you kindly considering adding a feature to skip / ignore certain paths (directories, files) stored on local machine from syncing? Some examples of situations where inability to exclude files from backup causes undesired issues: 1) There are programs which store temporary files among synced folders. These temporary files frequently change and are deleted on program exit, which results into frequent unnecessary synchronization and deletion of files in cloud, therefore waste of computing resources and bandwidth. 2) Specific program creates empty file "running" to indicate it's in running state. Box Sync does not sync empty file but warns user each time such program starts that it's unable to sync "running" file. In some cases I am getting multiple notification each hour. 3) Some games tend to store their data into "My Documents" folder. Those data do not need to be uploaded to cloud or to be accessible from other devices. Also, when the game is running, their frequent updates results into waste of computing power and bandwith again. 4) Some large files unable to be synced could be skipped, resulting into quicker sync time. Users should be able to choose what to sync and what not, and the possibility to exclude files or folders from syncing would greatly improve Box Sync experience!
