  1. Ability to make an account READ-ONLY which includes Download restriction

    For security purposes, we need to set accounts to READ-ONLY mode. Currently, Box offers four account status options: Active, Inactive, cannotdeleteedit, and cannotdeleteedit_upload.
    Unfortunately, none of these statuses allow for a true read-only setting. The latter two statuses still permit downloading, which poses a risk of data exfiltration from Box. The Inactive status is also not suitable, as it prevents all collaborators from accessing shared content. We request the creation of a READ-ONLY status to address this need.

  2. Remove or Show a Different Box Admin Address to Enterprise Users

    In the Account tab of the user Account Settings screen, users can scroll down & see our Box Admin service account e-mail address, which we need to keep invisible. (We certainly don't want users spamming it when we have a help desk.)

    How can we either eliminate showing the Admin Contact here or show a different address? (This should be an Admin Console setting.)

    This part of the product design does not show any regard for an enterprise with more than a few IT folks.

  3. View suppression list

    I should be able to view emails on my suppression list. I appreciate the ability to remove addresses from it myself, but not being able to see which email addresses you are blocking creates situations wherein I do not know someone isn't getting mail until after they have missed at least one message.

  4. We want group administrators to edit tracking codes

    Currently, tracking code information can only be accessed by Admins and Co-Admins with permission.
    We wish it was possible to give group admins the ability to edit tracking codes.
    Alternatively, We would like it to be possible to be a co-admin while being a group admin.

  5. Ownership transfer status notification

    Transfer of ownership status notification for both accounts (Previous folder owner to New Owner).

    To check status of ownership transfer without creating a support ticket.

  6. Allow Standard Users to Access Reports

    It should be possible to grant standard users the ability to run specific reports. It violates the "Principle of Least Privilege" (PoLP) to elevate a user to Co-Admin just for the same for running a report. Please extend privilege levels to allow standard users restricted access to designated reports.

  7. Collaboration Delete

    When a group is collaborated with, if you try to delete the collaboration, an error occurs and the group cannot be deleted.
    This is because the group has more than the recommended number of members, 15,000.
    I would like it to be possible to delete collaborations reliably even for groups that exceed the recommended number.

  8. Continuing misleading data in Box Admin console about exceeding storage limit and saying account upgrade is required

    For several YEARS now users like me have reported continuing misleading data in Box Admin console about exceeding the storage limit for plans with storage limits. The data is not slightly off; it can be 10GB or 20GB too high.

    Clearly some folks won't check this though and will just upgrade in the mistaken belief that they have to. That is not good practise folks, to put it mildly!

  9. Allow Admins to Recover Deleted Users Directly

    Occasionally, Admins can delete a user (or large group of users) for one reason or another (license re-allocation, deleting users based off of perceived inactivity, etc.). Sometimes these users need to be recovered quickly to give users access to their Box account once again if this was done by mistake.   10. Box Group Automation, Dynamic, Identity Manager Tie, or other Methods

    Searching through Box pulse ideas, there are several different flavors of requests for Box Group automation (allowing for users to be auto assigned to a group based on some type of input, either being account information, data fed from an identity platform, etc).

    This will be important for enterprise customers, as they transition from Microsoft file shares/products that have this functionality available.

  12. We want to enable a custom app partially by specifying users/groups

    A feature has been released for integrated apps that allows you to partially enable them by specifying groups or users, but we would like a similar feature for custom apps.

  14. Provide functionality to extend the 30 day time limit on user acceptance when enabling External User TOS

    Currently, the documentation states that when enabling external user TOS, if the user does not accept the TOS within 30 days then they have all access to collaborated content revoked. This is problematic as we have external users that need occasional access but may not heed the warning to accept the TOS. I would like a mechanism to manage this time frame, either extending to 90 days or reset the time for users/groups.

    If any external collaborators do not accept the ToS within 30 days, they will be removed as a collaborator from the content.

  15. Request for API Improvement (Folder Move API)

    In the folder move API, we would like you to add a function to set query parameters (force=true, etc.) to force execution.
    The intention is to be able to quickly and efficiently respond to the necessary operations in "exceptional cases" and "emergencies", ignoring the usual constraints,
    We request that it be introduced as a function in order to improve the efficiency of operational work by administrators.

  16. Request for additional enterprise setting items (moving across content owners)

    In the Enterprise settings, we believe that we need to have a feature that allows us to set an option that does not warn when moving across content owners.
    If you are caught by the information barrier limitation, "Stop at the warning display"
    If not, we would like to make it "movable without warning".
    In particular, we believe that this feature is useful for Box tenants with a closed configuration, so we request that it be introduced as a feature.

    The current Admin console defaults to the below columns with no way to customize for better productivity:
    Name
    Email
    User ID
    Role
    Status
    Storage Used

    This request would allow the Main admin account to customize which columns are displayed while looking at your Users and Groups page. These custom column choices can be chosen from the custom Tags (which are already a feature). Allowing important information to be seen at a glance rather than having to go into each user to get additional pertinent information.

    Creating accounts containing double-byte characters should not be allowed, which violates RFC5322

    (Reason)
    Currently, it is possible to create a new account containing double-byte characters in an email address, but it cannot be activated because it cannot receive mail. However, as a result, accounts containing double-byte characters exist like zombies.

    In some external cloud services (Salesforce), this causes errors when retrieving the user list, but the root cause of this problem in the first place is that Box can create new accounts containing double-byte characters, which violates RFP5322 "3.4.1. Addr-Spec Specification," so I would like to see this specification changed.
