Error notification of Box Drive should be restricted only be related to files which the user has accessed or edited before.
Or implement a new setting. Or implement a new setting to switch on/off to receive the error notifications.

Ability to save file without putting filename extension in the filename field
In the save-as window, there is "Save as type" pull-down menu on "Save to Box" window, where you can select xlsx, csv, etc (for excel). However, Box for Office sometimes returns error if you don't input extension on the filename field. Shouldn't Box for Office be able to determine file format from the pull down menu?

Hide/Turnoff Box Drive Error message
With Box Drive, users are getting many error messages pertaining to incompatible file names. Users would like the ability to prevent continued notification since most of these files do not below to them. Possibly could be handled with a [Dont show again] or [Remove from alerts] check box
10 votesYou can disable notifications through OS controls for Box Drive. That being said, we are working on improving error handling in Drive to address the root problems and hopefully lead you to disabling notifications as they are an important part of our UX!

Improve Box Edit Error - Unable to Save error message
We would like to improve the messaging on this error so that it forces the user to save a new copy of the file. Too many users are simply closing the error and losing their work.

Configure default file extension for save prompt
On Office, it is possible to configure the default file extension to use when saving a new file. (doc/ docx/ pdf etc)
We want this option also available on "Box for Office" or for Box for Office to read the default extension setting from Office.2 votes -

Make BoxEdit for Mac Multi-User Compatible
We have shared Macs and do not want to have to have BoxEdit installed on each profile, but would prefer that the primary installation be available for all users of the machine.

Be able to have the folders which are shared with other collaborators "invisible" in Drive.
In Box Drive UI, a user cannot distinguish whether the folder is collaborated with "Other company's user" or not. This may cause accidental info leak.
In order to avoid those information leaking, we want to have those folders "invisible" on Box Drive in advance.

Box for Office integration with Mac OSX
We would like Box for Office desktop integration w/Mac OSX. Some use the web apps for o365. Some use Office 2016 for mac that connects into o365.
37 votesThe Box for Office integration is not available on Mac due to technical limitations, but we do already support a native Mac Outlook integration with Box: https://community.box.com/t5/Box-for-Outlook/Installing-Enabling-and-Disabling-Box-for-Outlook/ta-p/66374
