Allow change page size, change orientation, more fonts or font colors in Box Note
Adding more option to customize Box Note (font, format, orientation etc.) for better UX
6 votesWe intend Box Notes to be for casual documents. Meeting notes, project plans, etc.
It’s not intended for flyers, fancy collateral, perfectly formatted PDFs. For those, we still recommend a program like Microsoft Word.
We do not plan to add these types of things to Box Notes.

Notes Desktop App - Allow Multiple Windows
Users may want to have multiple Notes open at the same time. Request is to allow a user to 'double click' a note in the list on the left sidebar to open it in its own window (exactly the same UX that the native Mac Notes app already has).
1 voteThis is not a priority for the team at this time. We will reconsider with additional customer demand.

Pasting Excel Table into Box Note
User would like to be able to paste and Excel table into a Box Note for ease of sharing data all in one file.

Ability to lock sections of a Box Note
Currently, if a user has edit permissions on a Box Note, they can edit any part of it. We would like the ability to "lock" certain blocks of text and table headers in a note so that other users do not modify or delete these accidentally.
6 votesWe’ll keep this in mind! However, this is not currently planned.
-
Tables - Ability to Copy a Row and Paste into a Table in A Different Box Note
Requesting ability to copy a Box Note row and paste into another Box Note table (preserving formatting and links). Currently, you can paste into a new table this way, not an existing table in our testing.
Rationale: Ease of use, consistent ability to cut and paste
18 votesWe understand this use case, however it is not a current priority for the team. We will let you know if anything changes.
-
Stylus Input - Support Stylus Input in Box Notes
Ability to record handwritten notes directly into a Box Note, from a tablet or phone using a stylus.
14 votesWe will do our best to support any operating system-level support for a stylus. But the demand for this is more rare, so it is Not Planned for our roadmap.
-
Provide a Box Note Realtime API so we can create new Box Notes from our custom apps
Our users would like to be able to create a new Box Note from their own custom app menu bar.
This note would be saved in the folder from which they clicked the icon.
1 voteThank you for your note! This is not planned for the foreseeable future. We will re-evaluate this request with additional customer demand.

Pasting Images from Clipboard into Box Notes
Add the capability to Copy an image from another location (Ctrl+C) and Paste (CTRL) into a Box Note
8 votesWe understand this use case, however it is not a current priority for the team. We will let you know if anything changes.
-
Ability to add attachments to Box Notes
As a collaborative editing tool, attaching related materials would be useful in many situations (today, we upload the attachments & link to them, but this presents access limitations & additional steps.)
This is essentially already allowed with the upload ability of image types, but given file level collaboration, having attachments would solve numerous issues our teams are starting to encounter.
3 votesThis is not a current focus area for the Box Notes roadmap. We are happy to reconsider with additional demand.

Selectable Folder from "Add hyperlink" option of Box Notes
Detailed step:
1. Open Box Notes file
2. Select strings in the file
3. Click "Add hyperlink" optionExpected: Selectable Box Folder directly.
1 voteThank you for the feedback. This is not currently a priority on the roadmap, but we will monitor and revisit based on user feedback.

Add 'Insert from Box' Option to 'Embed' Box Files within Notes
USER STORY: I have a file (a PowerPoint, for example) that I want to reference in a Box Note -- instead of just putting a link, I want to 'embed' the file so that it's displayed in a more visual manner.
WORKAROUND: Right now, in order to do this I have to screenshot the one-slider, then drag that image into the Box Note, then manually put the shared link for the file below it.
It'd also be nice to be able to (at a minimum) put a shared link for a file into the 'insert link to image' option that…

Importing from other document types is something we’d love to support in the future, but isn’t currently planned. Please continue to submit ideas and requests here, and we’ll update if this changes.

Thank you for the suggestion! This is not currently planned.

Add rich media capabilities to Box Notes
Dropbox Paper has lots of rich media capabilities that Box Notes does not. This is preventing a customer from migrating over to Box because of the lack of matching features.

Add Multimedia Embedding Functionality
The minimal approach to Box Notes is great. There are times where I'd like to use my note as a report and insert embedded HTML code for video or document preview that pulls from Box documents.

Box Note Visual Share Indicator
Security would like users to be able to see at a glance that a Box note is shared or not. Something like how the folder icon changes on the web app when a folder is shared.
We are more concerned about it now that Box Notes is consolidated and it's not always quickly visually clear (inside a Notes Tab) where the Note resides and whether it's collaborated.
