OCR support for Japanese in Android
OCR cannot recognize Japanese language in Android devices.
https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/1500000212121-Using-Document-ScanningIt would be very helpful if mobile app can recognize Japanese language when using Document Scanning.

Option to not leave the data on the device
If the user presses the + button and selects "Take photos or videos" and encounters an upload error when uploading the photos or videos taken, those files are automatically saved in the device's library.
Since the data remaining on the device poses a security risk, you need an option to not leave the data on the device in the application settings.6 votes -
When we open a PDF with the Box app (Box for EMM) on iPad, the Activity column appears on the right side of the screen.
When we open a PDF with the Box app (Box for EMM) on iPad, the Activity column appears on the right side of the screen.
It takes a lot of work to maximize this PDF, as you have to make one click each time.
We would like to prevent Activity from being displayed by default when previewing a PDF.If we use our iPad vertically, Activity will not be displayed, but it is assumed that we will use it horizontally.
6 votesWe’re planning to implement this change soon for iPad.

Fix accessibility of iOS app please
Please make the iOS app more accessible.
Issue: When navigating folders, focus is on the wrong folder and there is no way to fix it. To replicate, turn on VoiceOver and drag your finger over the folders to navigate and hear them read aloud, stopping before you get to the bottom of the page. Then swipe to navigate through the folders. By the time you get to the bottom of the first page's list, the focus is lost and the only way to get it back is to kill the app and restart it. Frustrating when you have multiple pages…
6 votesWe’re beginning to make overall improvements to the accessibility of the iOS app within Q2 of this year. We will continue to make improvements in future, as well.

+ button should be disabled with "Restrict content creation"
Users belonging to tenant with "Restrict content creation - Only admins can create and delete first-level folders, files, and bookmarks" setting enabled can see "+" button for adding content on their root folder screen of Box for iOS mobile app.
They can operate through "+" button, but it fails due to the restriction. The customer believe that "+" button should be grayed out if this restriction is in effect.
The customer wants the same to happen because "+" button is grayed out in the folder that the user is accessing with VIEWER privilege.5 votesHello,

Candidate destinations are not displayed when inviting files to collaborate(Box for iOS)
Box for iPhone/iPad and Box for EMM don't offer suggested recipients when you invite collaborators to a file.
When inviting a collaboration to a folder, a list of possible recipients is displayed. Please do the same in the mentioned app.
5 votesHello,
This suggestion is under consideration by the Product Team for future development, however, it is not on our roadmap. Please share additional feedback and use cases to help us understand the importance of this release.

PDF Bookmarks
Please add back the ability to use built in PDF Bookmarks to the Box IOS App. This ability was present up until about 2 months ago now when apparently a library used to render PDF's was upgraded causing this ability to be lost.
This has been an important feature for us as our users access large 50+ page PDF documents on a regular basis. During a meeting when directed to access a specific page within the document and bookmarks still worked, a user could simply select the bookmark which would send them to the exact page needed. Now users must…

Updates are no longer unlimited... WHY?
Updates are essential... Box won't allow viewing of updates on the Mobile app anymore, and with the latest update, the Updates feature on desktop only goes back 24 hours... This is unacceptable.

Tag and Metadata support still missing on Mobile?
Hello, new user here evaluating Box.com for several cloud integrations within our company. I am searching the community for info on searching/filtering by tags and/or metadata via the Box mobile apps. I am confused... I am seeing replies back from Box support dating all the way back to 2017 saying that tag/metadata support on mobile is one of the most requested features. Yet neither seem to have been implemented as of Q2 2020? Am I missing something? What is the justification for lack of attention to such fundamental (and highly requested) features for your mobile apps? Whatever the case, it…

Access the Admin Console via the iPad application
Users with a co-admin or primary admin designation should be able to access the Admin Console when logged into the Box for iPad application (vs having to use the web browser)
5 votesThis is not on the roadmap for 2019, but is a great suggestion that we may look into in the future.

Tabbed mobile navigation
Currently, I cannot do meaningful work on the Box mobile app. It would be amazing if we could have tabs to enable the navigation within different folders/content at the same time. One tab could be a folder, another tab previewing a doc, another tab, editing a Box Note.

Add Find in page ability in Mobile app
We'd like to add ctrl+F ability when previewing files in the mobile app.
The many use of box on my iPhone is to contain data in multiple locations so that I can look information up when I am not near my laptop. Many files are quite large and without a search feature, it is almost impossible to find the data. In the past, I have had to import the data downloaded by box into another app to search.
5 votesThis is an extremely useful feature we hope to revisit in the future, but it is not on our 2019 roadmap.

Limit large files to desktop viewing only
Really large files should not be shown on mobile device and so we'd like to inhibit people from being able to see it.
Large files 100+ Gig, ‘rushes’ from ad shoots moved in disk, genomics files at academia,… must solve user experience issue with mobile/web – we want to be able to classify that content as desktop only.
5 votesThis is not on the roadmap for 2019, but is a great suggestion that we may look into in the future.

A Way to See Containing Folder From Search Results
We are searching for a file and there is no easy way to see the folders in which the resulting files are contained.
5 votesWe are not currently planning to implement this feature within search. Containing folder information will continue to be available through file previews and in the browse view.

Ability to choose a timestamp on the photo itself when taken.
Time/date watermark on the actual photo would help for verification of pictures when they are actually taken in case someone modifies the file.
5 votesThank you for your suggestion! This is not currently planned. We will review this given additional customer demand and use cases.

Retain Mark for Offline setting when logging out and re-signing into Box
Currently if a user marks content for offline access in any of the mobile devices once the user logs out the content is removed from offline. The next time they sign in to the Box app, content needs to be marked for offline again. The request is to remember content has been marked for offline access on the mobile device so the next time they log in it makes the experience more seamless
5 votesAt this point in time we are not planning to add this functionality.
