Better error message for device limits
If there is a device limit set, the error message when you try logging in from another device should read something similar to: You have reached the max number of devices

Open Shared Link Controls: Only [specified roles in the folder] can create open links
REQUEST: The ability for admins to choose which roles (Editor, Viewer Uploader, etc.) are able to create open ('people with the link') links in folder they're in.
Currently, if you are a collaborator with permissions to create/edit a shared link, you can choose any of the 3 shared link permissions levels.
ADMIN STORY: "I want to require that only Co-Owners in folders can create open shared links. Editors and below can create shared links, but they won't be able to chase the permission to 'people with the link."
CONTEXT: Many large enterprises, and even smaller ones with a security focused…

Extend collaborations further than the default auto-expiration timeframe
When collaboration auto-expiration is in place on an enterprise level, folder owners can only extend the collaboration up to the default auto expiration timeframe. For example, if the enterprise has collaboration auto-expiration set at 90 days, the folder owner can currently only extend the collaboration for another 90 days. We would like for the folder owner to be able to extend the collaboration for a time period longer than the set collaboration auto-expiration.

Ability to have users enter their name and email address when downloading from a shared link without being logged in.
In the case of a public shared link, there is no way to verify the user who manipulated the file if it was manipulated while the user was not logged in.
However, we would like to verify by whom the shared file was downloaded.
Since the file sharing partners are unspecified, we would like to share files via a shared link rather than through collaboration.
Request the ability to track the operating user by having them enter their name and email address when downloading from a shared link in an un-logged-in state.(日本語)
5 votes -
Hardware security token for 2FA / MFA / Yubikey
With the broader support of passkeys , I would like to suggest a phishing resistant WebAuthn based Authentication option for Box.
This would open up future possibilites for convenient and secure FaceID/TouchID/Yubikey/etc authentication.
Insurance companies are requesting it and I am sure all Box customers would benefit.

MFA Excluded User List Needed
MFA Excluded User List Needed - if a user has to switch MFA devices, as of now the Admin would need to globally turn MFA off for everyone, also an admin might need to setup a box account and login as a user (say using lastpass) before the hire date, thus they need to be on an exclusion list until they start, additionally automated processes might need a login that would be excluded from MFA needs direclty within box, thus the requirement for an exclusion list for MFA that is freely adjustable.
5 votes- We will soon have the ability to download back up codes that can be used in case you don't have access to your MFA device.
- Certain Box plans have the ability to exempt specific users from MFA.
- We do have this exclusion list for external users.
Given these, we don't have plans to add an exclusion list for managed user MFA at this point.

Need to have the ability to share links with "Invited people" in organization and to external people in named specific domain
Need to have the ability to share links with "Invited people" in organization and to external people in named specific domain.
We have a need to keep folder collaboration available to only a specific group of internal users but we would like to be able to have the ability to share files or folders with external collaborators in specific domains. Almost like another level of the "Invited People" type of link. Can this be considered as an enhancement?

Upgrade from reCAPTCHA v2 to reCAPTCHA v3
The pictures shown in reCAPTCHA v2 like traffic lights and crosswalks are vague, leading many users to fail to log in.
As a result they would like Box to use reCAPTCHA v3 instead.5 votes -

Alert when Password Reset is coming due
We have our users set to reset every 90 days. We find this consitently sneaks up on our users and they end up with expired passwords and then have to reach out to our IT department for assistance. This is mainly an issue with our Drive or Mobile app only users. Your website handles it well if they use the website they will be prompted. If they are on the Mobile app it stays logged in and breaks. (Shows folders and can be navigated but unable to see files) I would greatly appreciate it if we at least had to…

Send e-mail notification to uploader when virus scan detects uploaded file was malicious
Similar to below Box Pulse, but would like to request to have e-mail notification sent, especially if uploader is managed user within company.

Customize watermark to include version, update date
I’d like to use the watermark or a similar feature to print the Version Number and Last Update Date on PowerPoint and PDF files. I understand you can view this in Version History, but I’d like to see it super-imposed on the content.

Allow invitee to be notified of auto-expiration collaboration event
One of the settings in "auto-expiration" (Enterprise setting -> Content & Sharing) currently wrote "notify affected users" when the folder owner is the only person actually receiving the notification.

Whitelist a domain to bypass External Collaborator Expiration setting
White list a domain which would allow to bypass the limit imposed on external collaborators. Basically, rather than the same limit on all external collaborators, set limits on individual / domain.

Because Watermarking is built as an enterprise-wide feature, we don’t currently plan to limit access to it to only certain users as this would be antithetical to how we do enterprise features as a whole in the product.
If we decide to add the ability to limit folder settings to certain levels of users, then I could see us changing watermarking to fit that pattern.

Allow per user exemptions for password expiration
This would allow admins to remove automatic password expiration on service accounts or account used solely for third party integration services.

Allow security classifications to hide content if the viewer is an external collaborator
In addition to the classification level impacting sharing permissions, include the option to hide/block files from external collaborators in the folder

Box password setting function compatible with “NIST password requirements”
Box password setting function compatible with “NIST password requirements”
Many companies create rules for internal tools based on NIST password requirements.
I would like Box to introduce a password setting function that complies with NIST password requirements.・If it detects that a password may have been leaked, it will force you to change your password.
・If the password is included in the list of leaked values, the system will prompt you to create a different password.NISTパスワード要件に対応したBoxのパスワード設定機能
4 votes
