Want client document checklist for uploads
Sharefile has a checklist feature which is really important for audits. If we need certain forms, we want an easy checklist that will notify both the internal and external party which form is missing.

Move Custom Footer + Custom Support Info Back to Footer, Not '?' Icon
In the Legacy UI, the Custom Footer and Custom Support Contact Info (as configured in Enterprise Settings -> Custom Setup) both appeared (logically) in the actual footer of the webapp.
In the new UI, these items were moved into the '?' that's actually in the header.
REQUEST: Move these items back to the footer - or at least the Custom Footer fields - likely in the bottom left of the webapp when the left sidebar is expanded.

Remove Preview from Embed Widget
Users would just be able to initiate a download of the file when clicking a file.

Error message when trying to preview a password protected file is not clear.
When trying to preview a password protected file in Box, our users receive the message: "We are sorry, the server encountered an error while processing your documents, "which dos not really explain the nature of the problem (i.e., no explanation as to why it cannot be opened).
When trying to open with Excel Online, the error message is for them slightly better as it mentions that the file is encrypted and that they should follow-up with the author), yet does not explain how to open (with Box Edit via local app, or to download and later upload).

Re-Add Owner / Co-Owner Labels to the File List in Amsterdam
The Legacy UI had Owner and Co-Owner 'labels' that were shown in the file list next to the folder name. This made it easy for end users and admins (using Instant Log-In from the Admin Console) to see - at a glance without having to select individual folders - which folders a given end user either owned or was co-owner of.
These labels were removed from the new UI, making it much harder to identify owned folders (as both owned and not-owned collaborated folders are blue).
REQUEST: Re-add the 'Owner' and 'Co-Owner' labels to the file list in the new…

File downloads should be counted in reporting/access stats when the enclosing folder is downloaded as a whole
Consider Folder A with subfolders AA, AB, and AC.
10 files named "1" through "10" in each subfolder.
If folder "A" is downloaded, none of subfolders/files are counted in usage logs or access stats. They should be counted as "downloaded".

Show Folder Size in 'Size' Column (In Addition to Item Count)
The webapp currently has a 'Size' column that shows item count for Folders, and item size for Files.
REQUEST: For consistency, show both Item Count AND Size for Folders (not just Item Count).

User-Level Option to Default to 'In This Folder' Search
Currently, 'in this folder' searching is an opt-in for each search that a user performs. Some users, however, would like webapp search to mirror the experience we already provide on mobile, aka always defaulting to doing an 'in this folder' search.
REQUEST: Add a user-level setting (within a user's Account Settings) that allows them to opt-in to always defaulting to 'in this folder' searching (meaning the 'in this folder' checkbox in the quicksearch filter will always be checked unless the user manually unchecks it for a specific search).
72 votesDue to other higher priorities, we are not considering this item at this time.

Collaborators Page (Item-Level) - Add Multi-Select for Changing Permissions/Removing Collaborators
Add multi-select to the Item Collaborators page (the Collaborators page at the folder level) to allow for changing permissions, including removing, for multiple collaborators at once.
5 votesThank you for the suggestion! We do not plan to incorporate this change in our roadmap. We will let you know if anything changes.

Always Show Show/Hide Option for Hiding Left Sidebar
The left sidebar in the new Web App auto-hides at smaller window size (due to responsive design), but some users would like the show/hide option for the left sidebar to always be shown (like the button already is for the right sidebar) to allow for increased space for the file list columns (Name, Modified, Size).
REQUEST: Always display the show/hide button for the left sidebar, regardless of the window size.
12 votesWe’re aware that the lack of space to show file and folder names is an issue. We’re working on addressing this in different ways.

Option to restrict folder owner from inviting other users as co-owners
We only want certain Project owners to be able to change folder properties.
0 votesThis is narrowly valuable, and would be confusing to introduce more customization to permission levels. Therefore, this is not planned.

Version-Specific Shared Link Option
Currently shared links to a file will only return the latest version. We would like the ability to share a version of our choosing rather than just the latest version.
3 votesThank you for this suggestion. This is a resource-intensive feature which is not prioritized for our roadmap.

TAGS: User wants to be able to see a tag in their list of "my tags" if they've only applied the tag to content owned by other people.
If a user applies a tag to a document owned by someone else, the tag will not show up in their list of "my tags." The workaround is to keep a dummy document they own to which they apply all tags their using on other people's content.
8 votesThanks for the suggestion! We don’t currently have this update planned for the Tags feature in Box as we look at other ways to help users organize and structure their content.

While we don’t have any current plans to support this feature, I would recommend the following workaround to use the ‘Description’ field that appears at the top of a folder. You can even add hyperlinks into the description! More information is available here: https://community.box.com/t5/How-to-Guides-for-Migrating-and/Adding-Descriptions-to-Folders-and-Files/ta-p/58565

Replace Java Uploads with native folder upload methods
Firefox will be removing NPAPI support by the end of 2016
https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/2015/10/08/npapi-plugins-in-firefox/Java uploads have always been a terrible experience to set up. Java itself contains bugs that prevent our applet from launching correctly.
v1.7.1x
Customers with strict security policies always bump in to SSL issues which are difficult to resolve due to their policy. (java itself has a security store)8 votesThere is no native folder upload method available with Firefox.
