Embed - Add Ability to Remove Header from Embed Widget
In the legacy UI embed widget, there was a parameter in the code to not show the header, which was a great option as we want a streamlined embed widget.
In the new UI embed widget, this option has been removed, meaning the header is ALWAYS shown, which can be a major UI distraction for various embed use cases.
REQUEST: Re-add the ability to remove/hide the header within the embed parameters.
22 votesThanks for the suggestion! This is an awesome idea, but due to competing priorities, this is feature request not currently on our immediate roadmap.

Send out expiration notifications to folder co-owners
We currently only send out expiration notifications to the folder owner and not the co-owner

Would like to be able to download multiple files without it creating a zip file
Would also like to be able to choose where the file downloads to instead of the downloads folder and then having to move the file.
3 votesThank you for this feedback! This is not currently planned. We will reconsider this with additional demand.

Grid View - Ability to Show/Hide Item Names
By default, Grid View in the New UI shows information below the item preview (such as name, etc.).
REQUEST: Introduce a 'show/hide' option that would allow the user to switch between only showing the thumbnails vs. showing the thumbnails with the additional information (like name, etc.) to provide an enhanced grid view experience when in a folder with many image/video files.
3 votesThis is not currently planned. We will let you know if anything changes.

Drag and drop files from Box into a document
Our users have all of their content/ media files/ images stored in Box. They routinely drag and drop images to a document (PPT, Word etc.) to prepare docs.
Right now, unless users sync all their files, they cannot drag and drop the file into a document. They have to download it and then add it to doc.
1 voteThanks for the feedback! There is no workaround for this use case at this time.

Ability to play video from grid view in new UI
As opposed to having to click into the file to preview the video playback
1 voteThank you for this suggestion. This would be a pretty big change from a technical perspective and is not currently planned.

Default new collaborators to Viewer (or any level) rather than Editor.
If they want the Collaborator to be an Editor, the inviter needs to physically make that change from a dropdown when inviting.
3 votesThank you for this feedback! This is not currently planned.

User-Level 'History/Activity Manager' - View Prior Actions with Option to Undo
Users often perform a variety of actions in their account - renaming files, moving files, copying files, etc.
There's always a success/failure banner (with an 'undo' button) for these larger actions (like move/copy), but that banner is dismissed pretty quickly
There are scenarios, however, where a user performs an action (especially a somewhat destructive action - like accidentally moving a bunch of files) and they need to undo it AFTER the 'undo?' banner disappears.
REQUEST: Add an 'Activity Manager' or 'History Manager' at the account level that allows a user to view their actions and undo applicable ones. For example,…
5 votesThank you for this request! I can appreciate this use case. This is not currently planned. We will reconsider this with additional demand.

Allow users to adjust line spacing between items shown in list view
In the new Box UI, some users are asking for the ability to adjust the spacing between items shown in list view (some users want to widen this while others want to cram things closer together)
1 voteWe do plan to offer an Accessibility Mode where users can set font to be larger and contrast to be higher, but we don’t plan to allow complete customization of spacing

3 votesThanks for the suggestion!
We currently don’t have plans to add support for Vietnamese.
Thank you. -
Add Templates to the 'New' Button
We often work with very templatized documents on Box.
REQUEST: Add the ability for admins or users to define or 'save' templates to their 'New' menu in Box.
1 voteUnfortunately, due to competing priorities, this is not currently on our roadmap.

Login flow: Confirmation window unnecessary
IBM believes that there are too many dialogs in the integration login flow. They've specifically identified that the "You were logged in successfully - Close" window after the "Part of IBM? --> Continue" window seems unnecessary.
1 voteThis is a limitation of login needing to happen in a separate window for the embed widget
-
Add back the ability to take a profile photo from webcam
This was a feature in the Legacy UI.
0 votesThank you for this suggestion! This is a low priority because it’s a very narrow use case. Changing this functionality does not impact a large enough user base.
