We would like to have notifications available for rename actions. e.g. file/folder rename5 votes
For teams that are actively working on a single document, the lock/unlock feature is nice to prevent version control issues. However, it would be nice to have additional notifications are this feature, namely:
- "Notify me when this file is unlocked"
- "Warn me [the person who locked the file] when the file lock is about to expire"
- "Warn me [the person who locked the file] if I've left the file locked AND inactive for more than X minutes"
I'd like to ask for adding full path to the file (especialy first level) in notification e-mails to use Outlook rules. Starting this year everybody is a member of many BOX groups - less or more important. It would be very usefull to split the notifications into folders.4 votes
When inviting users to collaborate in a folder, it would be helpful to add a check box to Not Notify the users.
Larger folders can cause a lot of noise as users are added to a folder.
There are times the collaborators may need to be removed, then re-added to a folder - this generates confusing emails.4 votes
We want Box to send a notification to the primary admin for any changes in enterprise settings.4 votes
If users log in from "Microsoft Edge", send them a notification saying “Box login from "Microsoft Edge".
Users receive the notification mail of login activity saying “Box login from "Windows Chrome" even though he login from “Microsoft Edge“. It should say "Box login from "Microsoft Edge"3 votes
Ability to receive email notification for MOVE event.
Currently, email notification can only be enabled for preview, upload, delete, comment and download3 votes
Example: say we need to do some maintenance and would like to notify all of our users. Right now I was told the only way to do this is to email everyone or share a link with everyone. With over 700+ users that would be a LOT of emailing or sharing. Can you please create a way we can send out a notification to our whole enterprise?3 votes
It would be very nice you can set a revalidation date to some documents that need to be reviewed in selected period. For example , documents that need to be validated each year. It would be nice if we can flag a date in the document , and receive an alert advicing that the document need to be reviewed. This alarm can be used for everything (for example for deletion of document). Thanks!3 votes
Currently. Download notification. Opening a file through Drive, which downloads the file on demand, and does not trigger this notification. For example, user A download a file through Drive, Folder owner B doesn't receive download notification although the folderset download notification in Folder settings. The download event should trigger sending notification. Expected Behavior: Opening a file through Drive, which downloads the file on demand, and it triggers this notification. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Folder Owner set download notification by selecting "Override default settings for this folder and all subfolders" 2. Opening a file through Drive, which downloads the file on demand 3. It counts as download event to Access Stats but download notification email not sent

Notify the folder group when a new version is uploaded.
Currently only when the first version is uploaded, a notification is sent. If version 2 is uploaded, the folder group does not get a notification.3 votes
When needing to invite a single user into multiple files and subfolders within a given folder, but not into all files in that specific folder, we'd like to see a way to suppress the email notifications that are automatically sent to that user each time the collaborator invitation is sent.
Currently there is no way to choose to not have the email notifications go out and then it inundates the user's inbox.3 votes
Collaboration Invite notification emails currently pull the inviting user’s Display Name from the Sender line and putting it in the From line. This means that while the email is coming from firstname.lastname@example.org, it still has the user’s name like the email has come from them directly.
This can cause conflicts with mail servers that flag emails based on Display Name and email origin. It would be preferable to simple have all notification emails from Box leave Box or Box Updates in the Display Name field, rather than spoofing the acting user’s name.3 votes
We've built an app that centers around adding users to folders owned by a service account. We had over 150k notifications in a single day, accounting for 80% of their email traffic to a single inbox for a brief period. We've have added a rule to block these incoming emails, but we are not satisfied with this solution and urgently request the ability to turn these off.3 votes
Notification when a file conflict occurs
Currently, there are times when file conflicts occur and go unnoticed.
If there is a function to notify the user who uploaded the file by e-mail when a file conflict occurs, the conflict can be checked immediately, and furthermore, confusion by users and accidents during file sharing can be prevented.
Currently owner of the folder alone will get notifications when a file is uploaded. We have a requirement for the uploader of the file to get notification as well so that it will serve as an acknowledgement for the upload2 votes
Allow users to set per-group notification preferences. My work recently created several umbrella groups that contain 100's of people and these groups get added as collaborators to announcement type documents. These documents generate a lot of noise with comments, etc. Now I have to choose whether to get flooded with notifications or turn them off. I would prefer to disable notifications of just the documents associated with these big umbrella groups, not the notifications for documents to which my account has been specifically added as a collaborator.2 votes
I love how I am notified when a set of files are uploaded into a specific folder but I am having one very key issue. I will receive the notification upon upload, but many times because it is 10+ large images, the images are not done uploading. I will review the folder but be unaware that the Upload is not complete. I may see 5 images with 5 still uploading.
Is there a way Box could show us of upload progress? OR possibly send a second notification when the upload is complete?2 votes
Thank you for the feedback. Can you please provide more details on the specifics of when you’re encountering this issue? Are you having problems related to status for a file request submission? Or regular file/folder uploads? Any information you can provide (including which application you are using) would be very helpful as we research potential soluitions.
