Leave "marked for offline" files reachable by a folder on the hard-drive when you exit Box.
It would be nice if the existence of "non-offline" files was still shown, just that they wouldn't be openable.2 votes -
Drag-and-drop file uploads in any portion of white space in a given folder
Files that are dragged from computer to browser window are not successfully uploaded to Box Drive folders unless they are dragged atop already existing files. Would you be able to expand the drag-and-drop's "catch region" to include all of the Box Drive folders' white space in a browser window? Thank you!

Metrics for tracking most oft-accessed files on a Box Drive shared among a team, department, etc.
OneDrive's tallying of the number of times particular files are accessed and by whom helped direct organization efforts for cloud storage and understand staff behavior. The Box Drive does not have a similar quantitative feature, as far as I know. Possible to create such a feature, to track who, when, and how often particular files and folders are used by staff permitted access? Thank you!

Show classification of files in Box Drive
We use Classifications to indicate restrictions on who a file can be shared with, e.g. confidential information supplied by third party that cannot be shared with other parties involved in a project. While classification is displayed within Box, there is no indication of the restriction if the file is accessed through Box Drive which could lead to unauthorized disclosure.

Sort Drive Search results by metadata
Currently you are unable to sort results in Drive Search, and you need to rely on searching based on keywords and sorting through the limited results. It would be helpful to sort on available metadata, similar to a traditional File Explorer, like name and last modified in order to better find that content we are looking for.

Box Drive status bar icon
When clicking the "box" icon pinned to the windows status bar, it opens up a search pop-up. Using Box Sync, clicking the icon pinned to the status bar would open up a new windows explorer window.
With box drive, you have to right-click the icon, then click "open box folder". I would like the option to change this to function like Box Sync did.

Linked Files and Folders in Box Drive
I'd like to be able to have a folder linked to other folders with the same file so the file can be updated from either location.
For example, there are Client 1 and Client 2 folders each having the same Folder A within them. In Folder A would be File B and if you update File B by going through Client 1 folder, it would be updated the same as if you went through Client 2 folder.

Support Emojis in file names
Box currently does not support Emojis in filenames, which means it won't sync if I drag and drop a file from my desktop into Box Drive. It would be great if Box would support the same characters in file names as current OSes

Allow Box Drive Folders to be added to Windows Library
My company has a lot of folders on Box, but only a few are relevant to what I do. In order to facilitate quicker access to the folders I use I created a Windows Library (Windows 10) and attempted to add the Box Drive folders I use to the Windows Library. But my attempts to do this resulted in Windows displaying a message "This folder can't be included because it is on a removable device" even though the Box Folder is on my Computer's C Drive. Slow IO: Switch from SQLite to something faster?
Benchmarks show that BOX drive is 50% to 90% slower than direct filesystem
Boxdrive stores the files in the cache as-is so there is no cpu overhead in encryption or packing, IO should be as fast as native filesystem.Perhapse the SQLite database layer is slowing things down?
If that's the case, replace Drive backend with something faster, like this one:

Add a BOX datastore to allow native search on Windows
Box can only be searched with the box search window, ctrl+shift+alt+b which is a workflow downgrade because it is not possible to search in a file browser and also it is much slower.
The solution is to provide Windows with a BOX data store and send notification to the indexer when files are synced or changed, then search service will take care of everything for you and we win!

be able to see dropbox folders in my box account
i have clients using Dropbox/Google Drive/One Drive
i want to be able to login in to box.com and be able to see the folders they have authorized me to in these other services. the company i work for does not allow me to login to these other services. im at a loss on how to communicate with my clients using other services.thanks

Syncing bookmarks and Windows shortcuts between Box Drive and online.
To better organize my personal Box files and share with teams, I've saved my files in the team folder and used a Windows shortcut (in Box Drive) in my personal Box folder to link files/folders elsewhere on Box. Box Drive doesn't sync Window's shortcuts so these links are lost when working online. The workaround online is to use the bookmark function, using file/folder URLs to create shortcuts. Box Drive Sync Delay Indicator
Box Drive is supposed to mirror the files on the server. But we experience delays of five minutes to over an hour between when we complete an upload to Box and when other users can see the file in Box Drive. We end up having to use the web portal more frequently to download files rather than waiting for them to appear, which creates version issues and nullifies the most attractive feature of Box Drive. Box Drive IO performance abysmal
The performance of box drive read/write operations is sometimes a bit slow (10%) and other times abysmal.
Based on tests, scrubbing through timeline in an editing software like premiere pro is jittery whereas it is fast on onedrive which I believe does delayed sync and doesn't impact IO that much.
