  2. Allow force download from web for red flagged files.

    On occasion, a discrepancy may be found between your local copy and the one on the web. I recommend adding the ability to override your local copy with the web version as a Box drive local option.

  3. Make Box Drive a NTFS volume

    Box Drive is currently recognized as a FAT32 "installed volume". Whenever I try to copy a file from my NTFS SSD, I get a system message telling me that some file properties cannot be copied.

    I don't know if that can cause any problem in the files content, but it surely hurts our working efficiency, since we have to do an additional click every time we need to upload a file throughBox Drive.

  4. Enable sync of files with lnk extension through Box Drive

    Box Drive will not sync files with a .lnk extension. We would like to be able to sync these as they are valuable in certain circumstances and are not hidden/system files.

  5. Improve Box Drive memory usage

    Box recommend 4GB of RAM as minimum system specifications. But 4GB of RAM is not enough since Box Drive tends to use more than 1GB memory when a user open folder which has a lot of items. Therefore the fetching function should be improved to run efficiently on 4GB of RAM

  6. Short cut link for the file in Box Drive should be available

    Windows shortcut link for the file in Box Drive is broken if the BoxDrive cache is deleted. If the shortcut exists, the file in Box Drive should be opened as far as it exists.

  7. Provide a way to "pause" syncing of files marked for offline

    Allow a use to stop/pause syncing of files that are marked for offline access. We have multiple users who travel and are on metered connections but still need access to the internet and their offline files.

  8. Android File Association Fix

    On Android, other apps prompt you to "open with" when opening a file there is no association for (ps1, vbs, lang of your choice). However Box makes no such prompt. Please update Box Android to offer an "open with" dialog like other apps have.   9. Create Custom URL for shared links in Box Drive

    Right now a link can not be customized as the customer is used to when using the WebApp. Only “Copy Link” is available.

  10. Backup user folders to Box Drive

    To make the capture and backup of user content on our users' local systems easier, Box Drive should have an option to automatically select and sync the contents of user folders on both Macs and Windows computers (e.g., Desktop, Documents, etc.).

  11. Pre-populate Box signin userid (email) field

    Actually for all Box applications requiring sign-in from a computer.

    Allow the sign-in procedure to remember previously supplied email addresses (in a configuration file or in the Windows registry) or allow customization for users to provide a list of addresses. Then provide selection from a drop-down list at sign-in time.

    This is typical of browser access to the Box web page. It would greatly ease access to Box for Box Drive users that do not stay connected. Absence of this feature has us looking for alternatives to Box Drive for our desktop file sharing needs.

  13. Ability in Box Drive to have documents physically stored on PC or external driver

    In Box Drive it would be good that the documents are physically on our PC in offline mode, not just a memory copy (metadata).

  16. Ability to open a file in Box Drive from a shared link accessed via the web

  17. Support for differential or byte-level or block-level syncing with Box Drive

    This type of transfer means only the changed parts of the file are transferred instead of the whole file.

    A true silent update is not currently planned. We have made some improvements to Box Drives update behavior by including silent updates when Box Drive is launching, if an update is already available. This improvement is in v2.3 for Mac and v2.3 for Windows.

  19. Expose EXIF Metadata in the Box Drive when Media (Photo, etc.) is Uploaded via Box Drive or Web App

    We sort hundreds of thousands of photos taken by our users. We need to be able to sort within Box Drive in a Windows Explorer view, and one of the ways they sort is via the Date Taken attribute.

  20. Have Box Notes Accessed via Drive Open in Box Notes Desktop Application

    Right now, when a user opens a Box Note from Drive on their desktop, the note is opened in the webapp, rather than the Box Notes desktop app they have installed.

    A better flow would be to have those notes open in the Notes desktop app instead
