1. Compatibility with MadCap Flare PDF Output (Fix copy/paste in preview mode)

   In Box.com preview mode of a PDF that was built via MadCap Flare, when you copy text and paste it somewhere, it removes all of the spaces in the text and makes it one big string (see example below). The copy/paste feature works fine from PDFs built out of InDesign and in all downloaded PDFs. This has been a common issue for our Support reps who want to simply copy/paste text from a previewed product documentation PDF into a Support case without having to download it each time.

   MadCap Flare is a widely used authoring tool for product documentation PDFs. We cannot build our content in InDesign or anything other than MadCap Flare as it’s a single sourcing tool with shared content between online and print deliverables.

2. Thumbnail previews of documents should show file type: docx vs pdf

   The new BOX.Com format no longer shows Word Docs with a Symbol vs PDF with
   a different symbol.

   i.e. they have removed the prior, very visual, cues as to document type.
   We can still see EXCEL symbol, but hopefully that will not be lost

   This is a problem for us since we have many documents with long names, and
   can't always see the final extension
   Not to mention visual cues are exceedingly useful and helpful.

3. I would really love to be able to see and use my PDF bookmarks from within the Box preview service

   I have large PDF files that are stored on Box. Rather than having to always download the files I would like to use the bookmarks within the PDF to navigate even if I am in the Box Preview function.

5. Ability to preview without comments on word file

   Currently, Box always shows comments on word file in preview.
   This would be a bit hard to see word in preview.
   Since Microsoft Word Desktop application allows you to disable comments on view, we would like Box to implement like this feature.

9. Add-ons tab and drawing ability

   The one crucial thing is that people cannot today leave google docs or other Word editing software. Because the G-suite integration misses the add-ons tab. You can buy stuff via the add-ons tab in google drive, like icons and symbols. These cannot be used in the g suite integration.

   Also the draw option is not available. I want to be able to draw tables and figures in my documents, i can't do that. So if im Writing in a document, at some Point i have to stop and refer back to google drive, which makes the whole idea of using box a bit obsolete...

   Collaborations - you cant collaborate with people not using box, that is not how the workflow in life is handled. It is very impractical to tell 5 people, wait I have to start collaborating via Box, and you guys also have to have box.

   I will think about these issues as well, and if a solution is presented in my mind i will tell you.

10. Support Embedded Audio/Video when Previewing PowerPoint (.ppt/.pptx) Files

    Presentations sometimes have embedded audio/video, and when viewing the file in Box Preview, these embedded media components do not render/play.

    This request is to allow this embedding to be rendered and exposed in Box Preview.

12. I would like to be able to view the history of previous versions of files that are compatible with the Excel online previewer on the Box Web

14. Support preview of script files such as Powershell .ps1 and .psm files

    Preview fails on Box Web for Powershell scripts having a ps1 or other related extension.
    Ideally this would allow one to look at the current as well as prior versions of the file in Box Web without having to download each version separately.

18. Character code conversion of csv file

    When displaying a csv file in preview, full-width values ​​are garbled.
    It was confirmed that the garbled characters were resolved by changing the character code to [UTF-8 (with BOM)].
    csv is automatically generated, so you need to open each file and change the character code.

19. Box Image Previews Now Crop the Preview in Grid View

    Box Preview now crops the images show in Grid View previews so the user is now unable to see the full image unless clicking in.

    The previous Grid View previews were the full image size, which allowed for faster reviews of multiple assets. Clicking into each size now adds a great deal of time to the file review process.

    Please consider changing back to the old Grid View preview system. Thank you!
