  1. Rollback all files uploaded even if one fails to upload

Under the current design, when uploading multiple files, the successful files are stored in Box, even if one of the uploads fails. As a result, subsequent processing, e.g. adding metadata, may also not take place. This is inconvenient for the user under the usecase of using File Request+Metadata. The user has to look for files that were not uploaded and has to check the metadata for files that were uploaded. And if the uploader is anonymous, it's impossible. This Pulse requests that if one or more uploads fail, the uploads of other files performed in that File Request are also…

  3. I want to set conditions for files in File Request

I want to limit the types of files that can be received by checking file extensions (Word, Excel, Power Point, PDF, image, video, audio files, etc.)
I want to be able to set a single file size limit.

    Implementing this function improves security.

  5. Evolution of File Request with more options and fields

    "Box Forms"

Request: Evolution of File Request with more options and fields.

Pain point: Extremely limited fields for Box File Request.

Solution: Please copy Google Forms or SurveyMonkey.

  6. Get rid of the green 'refresh' bar when uploading a new document

Give the user access to disable the green 'refresh' pop-up bar. It’s annoying and requires to be click before you can move on. I challenge your staff to spend a day working in Box, loading and uploading docs – you’ll get tired of it VERY quickly.

Don’t need more clicks in the workflow!

  7. Files that failed to upload are displayed at the top.

On the file list screen that opens from the bottom when uploading, I want files that failed to be uploaded to be displayed at the top.
When uploading tens or hundreds of files, it is not possible to immediately determine which files actually failed.
You could find it by scrolling down, but the time and effort involved seems impractical.
Like this feature to be implemented to improve convenience.

  8. Custom URL for File Request Links

Allow Contributors to make a custom URL for File Request. This is available for Shared Links. Having a Editable File Request allows branding for URLS.

  9. Box File Request: Requests the ability to delete uploaded files by Content Submitters

If the Content Submitters uploads a file while logged in with their Box account, please add a feature that allows the Content Submitters to be given delete permission the uploaded file within a set time (e.g. 15 minutes after upload).

  10. Enable to obtain information about the uploader of a file uploaded via file request.

I would like to use the Box API to obtain information about the uploader of a file uploaded via a file request.
In the current specification, the "createdby" and "modifiedby" names of these files are both "Anonymous User" even if the file was uploaded by a user who is logged into Box.

  12. Please add detailed logging for upload issues/failures

Please add logging for upload errors so admins can properly troubleshoot errors. Right now there's no information shown beyond the folder causing an upload issue and no details on why the upload failed ie: file or folder name, format, length, etc.

  13. Provide an s3 compatible interface to box

Provide an S3 Compatible Interface to Box. This will allow applications that have native support writing to S3 storage the ability to natively write to Box instead.

  14. File Request's new email notification format is a step backwards - it doesn't tell us the email address of the uploader (but it used to)

A few months ago, the format for the email notification would show the email address of an uploader that used the "file request" feature.

The updated format has LESS information, now it simply says that "someone" uploaded a file. Go back to the prior version which showed the email address of the uploader.

  15. When importing documents they should keep the date of the document, NOT the date they were uploaded.

When all my documents and files were imported into Box back in the beginning, they all got the same date. That has been horrible to work with. Many documents have similar names but I could always look at the date and know that the more recent one was probably the one I was looking for. But now, I have to look through each document to see if it is the one I want.

Of course, once I have worked on it, it now has today's date and I can tell my newer documents. But now, even after being on Box…

  17. Increase maximum image size for branding a File Request to above 1 MB

Upload limit for Box File Request Company Logo Branding is only 1 MB. This is way too small when the average file size of a smartphone mobile phone camera picture is about 3MB, LinkedIn allows 8 MB and Google allows 5 MB.

    LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a549049/photo-won-t-upload-to-your-profile?lang=en

    Google: https://support.google.com/business/answer/6103862?hl=en#:~:text=Photo%20guidelines,px%20tall%2C%20720%20px%20wide.

Solution: Literally just copy how Google Forms does it...........

  18. [File Request] cascade feature to allow granular uploading of files to a folder structure / subfolders.

[File Request] feature to allow uploading files to a folder structure / subfolders. The "Submit Files" page does not provide any context regarding the linked folder name without having to manually input this, and doesn't provide subfolders to allow the user to drill down and upload files into the subfolder of which they choose (with breadcrumbs of course to navigate back to the root folder share via the File Request URL. Currently users have to create a File Request per folder or invite users in to the parent folder as a "Previewer Uploader" in order to upload.

    Alternatively, I'd just…

  19. Provide API Access for file upload to the 'file request' URL. The existing file upload API does not provide a method for anonymous uploads

Provide API Access for file upload to the 'file request' URL. The existing file upload API does not provide a method for anonymous uploads to a 'file request' link. Both the bearer token and folder id are not known and are not available within the URL.

a possible solution would be to implement an 'OPTIONS' call to the URL to return a throw-away bearer token and the folder id so that the existing file upload API calls can be used.

  20. Universal and Individual Upload Pause and Throttle

Problem: I'm uploading a lot of relatively large files. The urgency for these is low, but it will take a long time to upload. During this time, I have smaller high priority files to send to a client for approval. However, uploading these smaller, but more important files using a different service is extremely slow. A 30 second upload becomes a 10-minute upload.

Solution: Have individualized pause buttons on each uploading item AS WELL AS a universal pause on uploads. Also, a throttle to limit it from using all of the bandwidth would be nice, too. Please also make this…
