  1. Shield Suspicious Location User-Level Exclusion

Allow for user level exclusion for suspicious location alerts. This is helpful in the event that users are traveling across locations and various IP addresses.

  2. Create reports for Shield actions/tracking

Create reporting for Shield activities, including the following:
    1) Classifications applied by their name (i.e. 'externalpublic used on 157 folders/files'). This would help determine popular and unpopular classifications.
    2) User who applied the classification label and each time they applied one (i.e. Person A applied shield classification labels on 10/1, 10/2, 10/3, etc). Helps see who is using the labels and how frequently.
    3) User and which label they applied (i.e. Person B applied the external
public label on 10/1, 10/2, 10/3, etc.). Helps see a combo of the above two bullets.
    4) Number of times a shield classification…

  3. Classified contents report

We would like to list the contents based on the classification, to find classified contents stored in unexpected folder.
Some of sensitive contents need to be strictly controlled and stored in the proper folder.

  4. Malicious Content False Positive Handling

When a malicious content policy has a download restriction, it would be helpful if there is a way to identify false positives in order to allow downloads when required.

  5. Display Shield classification labels by default beside the name of each item in a folder

When viewing the contents of a folder, it would be beneficial to the user experience to see which items are classified and how without needing to select the item or attempt to preview it.

  6. Automatic classification based on filename

We would like to be able to automatically classify certain files based on filename. We have files of a certain type, that always have the same file extension, that are always high-value assets for us. To be able to automatically classify these and change permissions around external sharing for them would be a big win for us. Without it, we either have to educate our users to always classify these manually, or be content with the possibility of them being outside our security preferences. However, we should also be able to un-classify them, in the rare event that one of…

  7. Email Address Lists Shield

To support ethical walls, it would be advantageous to be able to create lists of email addresses for different teams within the same company so that collaboration and shared link access can be restricted. Example for private side, public side employees within an investment bank content could be classified for each with access controls in place to prevent sharing and collaboration.

  8. Box Shield

It is common that companies have non-executive directors, and that they work without corporate email accounts. They could use gmail or another personal email accounts so they might want to blacklist free email domains, but have special dispensation for these exec's email addresses. So blocking all free email domains, with an additional granularity to allow certain addresses on a whitelist.

We would like see that only owners can control Box Shield and Governance classifications. We would like a way to restrict co-owners.

  10. Log Access Policy Violations

Box currently only logs successful actions. We would like to see when a user attempts to share content that is blocked by Shield Access policies. From a DLP and insider threat perspective this would be huge in determining what people are attempting to do, not just what they are successful at doing.

  11. Auto-classify using AI/ML

Enhanced classifications that look at content, collabs, via AI/ML rules. Ability to classify and cluster content based on content type rather than having to script or manually classify them.

  12. Request File Marked Malicious Error in Box Web App UI and api

Constant monitoring the "enterprise events adminlogs" for FILEMARKEDMALICIOUS events is not feasible for our application. Request is to add filemarkedmalicious error, similar to filesizelimitexceeded error, so that the user the can be instantly notified of potential problem at file upload time for best user experience.

Instant notification is available today in our application, without this ability our users would see a degradation in their app experience.

  13. Extend classification posture to manage collaboration invites

Based on the classification of content, change the ability to invite collaborators, and automatically remove pre-existing collaborators if they exist and should not.

Shield provides classification based external collaboration restriction. If you select to apply this restriction to both existing and new external collab, existing external collaborators will not be able to access the content they were previously invited to.

  14. Integration with Azure Information Protection

Azure Information Protection allows for the classification of files/content. I would like for Box to recognize the Azure IP Classification that has been applied to any given file once uploaded to Box and have a corresponding Box Classification policy applied to the file.

  15. Virus Scanning: Allow Customers to Enable Virus Scan

Prior to 2017, virus scan notifications (when a potentially malicious file was detected) could optionally be enabled (via Internal Admin -> Enterprise Features Customization) which would do 2 things:
    1. Generate an email notification to the primary admin
    2. Generate an email notification to the file owner

In 2017, Box made a change to also add a notification for the FILEMARKEDMALICIOUS event to the Event Stream. https://docs.box.com/docs/api-changelog#section-2016-05-18-new-event-type-for-enterprise-events

However, in order for this event to populate in the event stream, the 'Virus Scan Notifications' must be enabled via IA, which also generates those 2 other email types above.

    REQUEST:…

  16. Expose in the API the ability to restrict collaboration in a folder within the company only

This would allow to disallow inviting external users based on folder metadata such as classification
