Whitelisting Access Using Managed User Groups
Companies frequently hire contractors and provide them with company email addresses to access internal networks and applications. This creates an issue with contractors having visibility into an entire folders and not just the projects/folders that apply to them. Shield's whitelisting capabilities allow us to limit external email domains, but because contractors are given a company email domain the whitelisting capabilities do not apply.
We would like to be able to create a "Consultants" Managed User Group and whitelist access to break waterfall permission for internal Managed User Groups.

Would like to have a setting where I could hide the activity pane for all documents when iPad is in landscape mode.
I don't use the activity pane very often, but since I used my iPad docked in landscape mode with an external keyboard, the activity pane opens every time I open a document. Instead of having to minimize the activity pane each time I would prefer to have a setting where it is minimized by default and I open it only if needed.

Create reports for Shield actions/tracking
Create reporting for Shield activities, including the following:
1) Classifications applied by their name (i.e. 'externalpublic used on 157 folders/files'). This would help determine popular and unpopular classifications.
2) User who applied the classification label and each time they applied one (i.e. Person A applied shield classification labels on 10/1, 10/2, 10/3, etc). Helps see who is using the labels and how frequently.
3) User and which label they applied (i.e. Person B applied the externalpublic label on 10/1, 10/2, 10/3, etc.). Helps see a combo of the above two bullets.
4) Number of times a shield classification…12 votes -
Device Trust Whitelisting
Provide ability to whitelist devices while Device Trust is enabled. We would like to enable Device Trust requiring both Domain and Certificate. But we also have lab hosts that are not domain members or have issued certificates. We would like to be able to allow hosts not meeting the Device Trust settings to login.

When I click on a photo in Browse mode to bring it full frame, by default a side panel comes up labeled "Activity." i
I am running v.5.1.4 IOS for ipad. When I click on a photo in Browse mode to bring it full frame, by default a side panel comes up labeled "Activity." This is very annoying, as I constantly have to click on the photo to make it full frame and eliminate the side panel. My suggestion: this should be a user option, rather than a default that cannot be changed. Most users do not use this Activity feature; why is it the default setting? This is a change on this new version 5.1.4. Please fix this on the next version.

iPhone default preview mode
With the recent iOS app update, all PDF’s when previewed in Landscape mode display the “activity” screen on the right hand side by default. This is an unwanted feature and I would prefer defaults to show the "activity" screen collapsed.

In App PDF reader changes make the app frustrating to use
Recently the UI for the PDF reader changed. I use Box primarily to read review copies of comic books, which DC Comics only make available to view in the app. Until recently this worked fine on my iPad, displaying the full page as I flipped through. I even liked the page flip of the interface enough that I upload other review copies to read them in the app. About three weeks ago, something in the UI changed, and now it no longer displays the full page, and I have to scroll on each page to read the whole thing. In…

When we open a PDF with the Box app (Box for EMM) on iPad, the Activity column appears on the right side of the screen.
When we open a PDF with the Box app (Box for EMM) on iPad, the Activity column appears on the right side of the screen.
It takes a lot of work to maximize this PDF, as you have to make one click each time.
We would like to prevent Activity from being displayed by default when previewing a PDF.If we use our iPad vertically, Activity will not be displayed, but it is assumed that we will use it horizontally.

"Smart Access: Download restriction" for G-Suite
We want "Smart Access: Download restriction" to control the download/printing capability of G-Suite apps. We want the integration just like office online which restrict download/print on office online apps.
For security perspective, we want to minimize the risk of data breach, so we are planning to store the confidential files on box and restrict the content to be downloaded to the devices. However currently if user opened the files on G-Suite, the files can be downloaded or printed.

Allow configuration of permissions to apply and change each classification created
To apply or change a classification, select "Owners/co-owners and editors" in the classification settings, and then click Users with editorial privileges or higher can apply and change the classifications.
However, by implementing a feature that allows configuration of permissions to apply and change each classification created, the Security can be enhanced.4 votes -
filter the activity report with specific classification
We want to get the activity reports for specific classification(just like specifying the folder).
We need to audit user activities for confidential files every quarter. Current activity reports can only specify the user, date, folder and action, not classification.
36 votesplan to add classification to item and collab events in Q3FY22, and then reports.

Email Address Lists Shield
To support ethical walls, it would be advantageous to be able to create lists of email addresses for different teams within the same company so that collaboration and shared link access can be restricted. Example for private side, public side employees within an investment bank content could be classified for each with access controls in place to prevent sharing and collaboration.

Preview files about xdw, xbd and xct in Box for iOS.
Please support xdw, xbd and xct files in Box for iOS.
Box for iOS can preview files supported by Box, such as PDF.
However, Box for iOS can not preview xdw, xbd and xct files (*1) for the following reasons.DocuWorks Viewer Light (iOS) (*2) implements Quick Look Preview Extension.
Thus, an app can preview xdw, xbd and xct files if the app implements QLPreviewController.
Although Box for iOS has already implemented QLPreviewController, previewing xdw, xbd and xct files are not supported by Box.*1)

b) DocuWorks Binder

Log Access Policy Violations
Box currently only logs successful actions. We would like to see when a user attempts to share content that is blocked by Shield Access policies. From a DLP and insider threat perspective this would be huge in determining what people are attempting to do, not just what they are successful at doing.
2 votesExternal collab restriction enforcement logs have been available via Event API. Download and shared link restriction enforcement logs will be made available in coming quarters.

Device Pinning as a condition for "Download Restriction"
Wondering if "device pinning" can register details of devices utilized by the user and allows/disallow the login from it. Why cant it be used as a condition under "Download Restriction". MDM solutions are not yet fully matured to cover all & frequently changing devices types .
1 voteDevice Trust as a condition for Download Restriction is on the roadmap

Display Shield classification labels by default beside the name of each item in a folder
When viewing the contents of a folder, it would be beneficial to the user experience to see which items are classified and how without needing to select the item or attempt to preview it.

Box Drive: Support ARM processors
The new Microsoft Surface Pro X uses an ARM based processor and Box Drive doesn't support ARM processors. I'm sure use of the ARM processors will increase rapidly since it allows for much longer battery life and support cellular data connections.
81 votesWhile the original post was about the Microsoft Surface Pro X support for ARM and when Box Drive will support that, many of the recent comments have been about Box Drive M1 support on Mac. We do not have plans for Windows ARM support at this time, but we are far along on our plans for M1 support on Mac. We’re targeting a release for Box Drive built using file provider extensions, which will provide seamless access of Drive on M1 devices. This will be GA soon.

File Request Link should be modified by Admin or Co-admin
Currently, only file request link creator can delete the created link. But, it should be controlled by at least Admin/Co-admin as a security stand point of view.
4 votesWe plan to deliver a dashboard that lists all file requests in the coming months/quarters.

Box Relay variable support
Could we have a variable for approvers Instead of harcoding them to a relay?
For example, if a document contained a metadata field for approver and it was populated with a user, could we use that metadata as a variable for the approval step of the relay workflow?

Fix accessibility of iOS app please
Please make the iOS app more accessible.
Issue: When navigating folders, focus is on the wrong folder and there is no way to fix it. To replicate, turn on VoiceOver and drag your finger over the folders to navigate and hear them read aloud, stopping before you get to the bottom of the page. Then swipe to navigate through the folders. By the time you get to the bottom of the first page's list, the focus is lost and the only way to get it back is to kill the app and restart it. Frustrating when you have multiple pages…
6 votesWe’re beginning to make overall improvements to the accessibility of the iOS app within Q2 of this year. We will continue to make improvements in future, as well.
