Ability to open a file in Box Drive from a shared link accessed via the web
After opening a shared link in Web App, a user should be able to open the file directly in Box Drive.
This feature is not currently planned, but it is a second-priority item for our team. A related feature—the ability to open a file in Box Drive from the web app—is on our roadmap and will be an initial step toward supporting this request. We will keep you posted on updates; please continue upvoting this request, as it helps us prioritize improvements. Thanks for your collaboration.

It would be great having the option for shared links to be opened in the Windows Explorer directly (if Box Drive / Box Sync is installed). Today, when a shared link is clicked, e.g. on Slack, it opens in the web browser, adding complexity to the workflow (e.g. having to log in, limited editing functionality, etc.). Most of our team today revert to clicking the shared link just to identify the location of the file in the browser, then finding and opening the file manually on Box Drive.

When opening a box.com link, the site should detect that I have box drive installed, then prompt me to open the file locally or go to the folder in finder/explorer.
Better yet, Box drive could intercept the url, check if the file is local and open it seamlessly if it finds it.

Yes, now that I've switched to mostly using Box Drive, when I receive a shared Box link from a colleague, I'd like it to open in Box Drive, not in Box web portal. Thanks.

I feel this would help as with Box Drive being so spectacular it would give people more of a reason to use it since they would be going straight to their finder/windows explorer to find the files.
