We would like to inform our users that we have created a file request area for them. As soon as we create a file request we would like to be able to send a number of users a notification that they should upload their files there.
Currently we have to manually copy the URL into an email to inform people, which breaks the flow. We would like the same functionality we see when creating shared links.6 votes
The current behavior in BOX when a Folder owner is removed / deleted from the system is the Folder is no longer available.
The process, in my experience, to recover the folder is not obvious, quick nor easy.
I propose the BOX system notify all Folder Co-owners of a pending Folder removal / deletion and allow 2 weeks for the co-owner(s) to determine whether the Folder should be removed from BOX and if the decision is to keep the Folder active to determine the new Owner as well.1 vote
Currently the default setting Account Settings > Sharing > Collaborating on Content is checked to automatically accept incoming collaboration invitations. I would like to request this setting be off by default as we've had many users ask why they receive an email immediately after inviting a collaborator and later found out that the person had never accepted the invite.
It would also be helpful if there was a Date Accepted column added to the Collaborators page that allows you to see when the collaborator accepted the invite. Currently there is only a Date Added column.

Notification when a file conflict occurs
Currently, there are times when file conflicts occur and go unnoticed.
If there is a function to notify the user who uploaded the file by e-mail when a file conflict occurs, the conflict can be checked immediately, and furthermore, confusion by users and accidents during file sharing can be prevented.
It would be so useful to have a chime or ding when I get Box notifications!1 vote
I think it would be great to have something similar to the Box Task Center but with mentions. Currently, you can only see them from the little bell icon and scrolling, but once you click on one the dropdown disappears. If it could route you to a page where you could easily manage the mentions received, that would be most helpful. I think they used to have that functionality, but it was removed a while back.2 votes
I know it's there. I will get it if I want it. But interrupting my work every 10 minutes with a popup I need to close is about enough to make me cancel my subscription.1 vote
Currently owner of the folder alone will get notifications when a file is uploaded. We have a requirement for the uploader of the file to get notification as well so that it will serve as an acknowledgement for the upload2 votes
Allow users to set per-group notification preferences. My work recently created several umbrella groups that contain 100's of people and these groups get added as collaborators to announcement type documents. These documents generate a lot of noise with comments, etc. Now I have to choose whether to get flooded with notifications or turn them off. I would prefer to disable notifications of just the documents associated with these big umbrella groups, not the notifications for documents to which my account has been specifically added as a collaborator.2 votes
If users log in from "Microsoft Edge", send them a notification saying “Box login from "Microsoft Edge".
Users receive the notification mail of login activity saying “Box login from "Windows Chrome" even though he login from “Microsoft Edge“. It should say "Box login from "Microsoft Edge"3 votes
Add an icon to a file (similar to the lock icon, or the shared link icon) when the associated user has an active task assigned to them or has been referenced in a comment but has not yet reviewed the document.1 vote
We would like to set up the following notification emails so that we do not receive notifications from users within the company,
as they are confused with notifications from users of other companies.
Therefore, we would like to see the ability to suppress the sending of email notifications per collaborator's email domain.

When adding a new user in a group. Notify the user of the group folder access.
Add the User to the Group 1, If Group 1 have access to Folder A and Folder B.
Notify the user of his new access to Folder A and Folder B.
Share Folder C with group 1. Inform Group 1 users of their new access to Folder C.2 votes
I would like to have a UI Notification implemented in Box, which would warn the user when they reach the Box's recommended limits with respect to
1. items per folder
2. total items per user
3. collaborators per folder.1 vote
I would like to be notified when a new sub-folder is added to an existing folder. It would be helpful if this could be set and be automatic as opposed to requiring a person to tell me. It seems a basic idea for BOX and was surprised it did not exist. Am requesting per this page.
The idea is, instead of getting a flood of emails or notifications throughout the day to rather get a summary of everything that was changed in the day or "A Daily Report." This could also be a weekly report for users who do not want updates throughout the week flooding the email.
This makes it so all the notifications can still be received by each individual without causing issues of too many emails.12 votes
An option to have the signed email notification be an option on it's own. The amount of emails TS sends is a lot, but this would be a key email that some may want to keep an eye out for.1 vote
Notify the folder group when a new version is uploaded.
Currently only when the first version is uploaded, a notification is sent. If version 2 is uploaded, the folder group does not get a notification.23 votes
We are wanting to use the feature of being able to upload a file to Box by sending an email to the folder email address, but do not want to have the auto email responder saying that "upload was successful". We are wanting to use this feature for our clients but do not want to generate questions when they get a email from Box1 vote
Add the ability to notify groups; i.e. @mention in comments, assigned task notifications in the activity pane and in Relay59 votes
We are definitely tracking this feature, but it is not yet on the roadmap for delivery.
How would envision managing your groups?
Would you want to sync with an existing directory, or create the Groups directly in Box?
