Enable Fast Push Notifications for Metadata Changes.
Nationwide is a platform customer who is customizing Box’s UI elements to support a new version of their Claim Center application. One of their usecases requires nearly instantaneous notification for metadata updates. The Event Stream is not an appropriate source because of the delay associated in parsing.
This functionality would 100% be used by Nationwide.1 vote
This unstoppable auto-notification [for shared link expiration], specifically, is the worst. While we are a fairly small firm, we use Box pretty extensively and we use shared links pretty extensively. All of our shared links automatically expire. As a result, my inbox is continuously inundated with this notification (we’re talking nearly 100, each day). I don’t have the time to look at each and review them. I don’t know if anyone could ever actually have the time to review them and make any kind of meaningful decision or conclusion based on, what is effectively, spam. With no way to stop these alerts from continuously flooding my inbox from the Box side, I’ve had to resort to putting up an inbox rule to divert them and trash them (in other words, I’ve been forced to spam filter Box’s auto-notifications). Basically, this notification is just “security theater.” You’re able to check off a box (no pun intended) to say that “we provide our users with notifications,” but these notifications do absolutely nothing to improve security. If anything, it’s made it worse because if you ever decide to send me anything useful via an auto-notification, I’ll never see it through all the spam.

As of now, only Site Admin and Content Owners will receive notifications from the Box Antivirus protection feature. We would like the ability to send those notifications to definable addresses within our organization. This will ensure our Security Team gets all the proper notifications and not just the Site Admin and Content Owner.
The work around at the moment is to have the Site Owner setup forwarding Rules in their e-mail application.2 votes
There should be a Box Dashboard that people stay on all day. Emailed @mentions are not effective1 vote
When I copy a file, I get a pop up saying people outside my organization can see it. I don't need to get that pop-up.1 vote
Notifications about folder activity for emails who are not collaborators in the folder.
Use case: Our end users are not allowed to access cloud data sites on our corporate network per compliance regulations thus them not being added as a collaborators. I sync the folders down to our file servers and share them creating a two-way data sync between our end users and their clients who use the website. I’ve just been asked to supply alerts when a client performs activities in shared folders but can’t do so directly because I can’t add specific email addresses to the alerts.1 vote
I need to have a custom message shown to unauthenticated users which will show them how to gain access. How can I create this page, or create a redirect to a custom page so my users don't see the ugly error message.2 votes

Thank you for this feedback. We currently do not have plans to expand custom branding to all emails. We will post updates to this thread if that changes in the future.
My customer request to translate to Japanese the confirm email, especialy "Please confrm the email address change for your Box account".
Many Japanese user didn't check the confirm email, because they guessed the English email is spam mail.1 vote
In the Web App under Notifications the filtered views (anything other than All Messages) is limited to 50 items, and you do not have the option to go to the next page.
For example our HR department set Tasks for each employee to review their Job Description. They were hoping to be able to do away with using a spreadsheet to track emails by seeing who was left under their Sent Tasks. But they are still using the spreadsheet and manual reminders since they weren't able to access more than 50 assigned tasks to send reminder emails.1 vote
Allow similar notification currently available on a folder level to be set up on a file level.23 votes
Thank you for the suggestion. We are actively looking into additional notification types and what our users might find valuable. Please continue to add use cases and feedback to help us prioritize for future releases.
We've built an app that centers around adding users to folders owned by a service account. We had over 150k notifications in a single day, accounting for 80% of their email traffic to a single inbox for a brief period. We've have added a rule to block these incoming emails, but we are not satisfied with this solution and urgently request the ability to turn these off.3 votes
When using the Box's Email Shared Link, there is no bounce back email or there is no way to track or reply to the email (the address has the name of the sender with a Box no reply email address).
Request: Have email of the sender instead of the no reply box email address8 votes
Provide the ability to set automated email notifications based on values entered into folder/file metadata. For example, 'send a reminder email to X people X days prior to the date entered in the 'lease expiration' metadata field on a file.8 votes
Due to competing priorities, we have not planned to work on this feature on our immediate timeline.
User would like to be able to upload a file and have a notification sent to anyone who downloaded the file.1 vote
Currently, the email that users receive when a collaborator's access to a folder they own is expiring soon does not provide any relevant links to Box Community documentation explaining collaborator expirations, how to extend them, etc. This creates user confusion as to 1) why the collaborators are expiring, and 2) how to extend the collaborator's access to the folder.2 votes
Thank you for the feedback. While we understand your request and agree that additional information in the email would be valuable, this feature is not on our roadmap at this time. Should that change in a future, we’ll post updates on this thread.
