Prevent CTRL+S from saving a new document version
Applicable to situations where MS Office documents are being edited via Box Edit
0 votesThank you for providing this feedback! We don’t believe there is a strong enough use case to pursue this.

We believe our efforts are better spent making it easier to keep permissions up to date on folder vs. different expiry on collab invites.

Audit behavior of how enterprise settings are applied.
Most of our settings are applied day forward. We should add an option to apply immediately to all existing users and folders.
Day forward settings for example are Expiration settings, Domain Whitelist settings.
0 votesRetroactive application of settings is not scalable. We are unlikely to implement this change and the current behavior is by design.

Password reset email notifications to admins: Add possibility for admin to auto-reply to the affected user
When Enterprise Setting: Notify Admins when users request a password reset email is checked, any other admin will to receive a notification whenever one of their Managed users request a new password.
It would help being able to reply to the managed user from this notification in order to provide better interactivity between admin/user and control/security over the request.
0 votesThis is a reasonable request, however we do not have enough user demand to prioritize this feature. Please keep submitting your use cases!

Auto-update Python
The version of Python that is installed with Sync doesn't auto update. Concerned about security vulnerability.
0 votesPython 2.7 and 3 are both supported releases. Python 2.7 will be supported through 2020.
We review and update our python version periodically through Sync auto-update. We currently use python 2.7.9 with Box Sync. We plan to update to the latest version (2.7.11+).
We only install Python to Box specific location on Windows (%ProgramFiles%\Box\Box Sync) and Mac (inside Box Sync.app bundle). Other applications will not use our python installation.
We reviewed the CVE list of Python and there’s no CVE that requires immediate update from 2.7.9.

Previews may load more slowly the first time if the file has not been converted yet. Some file types may not be pre-converted. Subsequent viewings should be faster for these files.
Preview loading performance is something we’re always focused on improving, but there are no specific efforts on the roadmap for this right now.

PFX files contain both the public certificate and private key. We only plan to check public certificates, which can be separated from the PFX by installing and exporting as .cer: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/403174/convert-pfx-to-cer

We encourage Kofax to build against our API to create this integration.

When 'Prevent users from accessing NetSuite content from their Box account' is enabled users will not receive notification
When 'Prevent users from accessing NetSuite content from their Box account' is enabled - users will not receive notification if they are @mentioned
0 votesThe option to “Prevent users from access NS content from their Box account” is no longer in scope with the new Box for Oracle NetSuite integration

Our new release of “Box Verified” is designed to try to solve this issue by allowing a box subdomain that is specific to enterprises (and not to personal users).
This is a different approach, but there are so many technical issues with the customer-domain approach (HTTPS certs, DNS syncing, etc.) that it is not feasible at this time.

Only AV checks and FW checks will not work on Windows Server today. This is because the info we use to evaluate is not available on Servers (it is available on Windows Workstations).
This enhancement is not planned for now, but we will investigate what will be required to support Windows Server in the future.
-
Enhance document capturing capabilities with our mobile app
Add OCR, cropping, image stabilizer etc.
0 votesThis is not on the 2019 roadmap.
-
Preview support for .nor and .jdr
This is driving recording video format
0 votesThis is not planned.
We don’t see enough customer demand for this yet, and supporting every additional content type takes a significant amount of engineering time and effort.

Ability to add a comment to a user.
If we mark an account as Inactive, we'd like to be able to add a comment to the user for tracking purposes e.g., "Disabled by Jane D. per contract non-renewal."
0 votesThere is nothing planned in this area for now. Have you considered using the Tracking Codes feature?
See here: https://community.box.com/t5/How-to-Guides-for-Admins/Configuring-User-Tracking-Codes/ta-p/235

Report to see who has set external passwords
For security purposes, we would like to see the ability to see which accounts have set an external password
0 votesIs this for a shared link use case? If so, please provide additional feedback in the comments.
-
Total File Count by File Type via Admin Console
We would like to see how many files are in Box at any given time and by file type. This would help drive the seamless use of Box across our org. due to the amount of content we already have stored.
0 votesThis information is available via API or by using overall size of storage as the proxy for number of files if possible
-
Provide more clear password guidelines when creating a new account
For example, add a real-time check that tells the user what is missing in the current password while typing it.
0 votesThank you! This is not something we are planning to revise. We will reconsider with additional feedback.
-
Folder Level Custom Terms of Service (TOS)
Currently, terms of service is enterprise-wide. This presents a conundrum for large enterprises who have several departments, some of which do want the TOS feature but some of which do not.
0 votesWe do not plan to implement this at this time given its narrow use case.
-
Adjust Hyperlinks in Usage Logs Reporting in the Admin Console run in-app
The hyperlinks that appear don't actually hyperlink out to the file/user/etc. in question and only add filters to that existing report, in-app
0 votesThank you for your submission. However, this does not have enough demand in order to be prioritized.
We will reconsider with additional use cases.

Add support for browser-initiated Print Preview when "showDownload=true" is applied to preview URL
Currently when creating a preview link and using the browser's Print function, the preview (and thus printing) functionality is disabled.
It would be helpful for user experience if the user didn't have to click our printer button in the previewer (which opens a new window then uses the system print preview) and could instead use the system controls for printing (cmd-P for example) if a preview URL is appended with "showDownload=true"
0 votesNot planned. If the customer really wants, they could use our Representation APIs to build the desired flow themselves.
