  1. Support deleting the current version

Currently there is no way to delete the current version or head of the version history. The only way to achieve the same effect is to promote a previous version and delete what was once the current version.

  2. Add Managed Domains list to API Endpoint

We would like to be able to make an API call to retrieve the list of managed domains for or Enterprise. We can only do this from the Admin Console today.

We do not plan to suppress these updates. However, we will reconsider if we get additional feedback from other users.

  4. Folder Level App Integration in Developer Console

Is there any plan to allow developers to give folder access to Web App integrations without having to request a special permission from Box?

In the current process, Developers can enable the context menu for folders to present integration features, but to do so they must contact Box first. "Send a request to Box for pre-approval to build a folder-level integration."

    https://docs.box.com/docs/box-web-application-integrations#section-step-4-select-an-integration-from-the-more-actions-dropdown

We would like the ability to add folder level integrations via the Developer Console without having to contact Box Support.

  5. Add API for CORS Domains

With the introduction of the UI Elements, managing CORS domains has been really important for developers who create third party apps that are then used across many domains owned by their customers. This gets unwieldy to manage manually.

  10. Add offline functionality to iOS SDK

Offline functionality is already available through the Box for iOS app but it's built on the app level.

Developers are interested in using the same logic used by Box instead of writing their own.

Our customers tend to have different requirements for an offline feature. We’ll monitor demand and re-evaluate.

  11. Allow watermarking to reveal External ID, as opposed to randomly generated App User Email

This would connect the viewer to a legal obligation through the document experience.

  12. NPM Package for Box Preview

Develop and support an NPM package for Box Preview, which will allow Box customers to receive all future updates to the Preview SDK without intervention on their part.

  13. The ability to pass unique request ID to each service request to assist with debugging

We want to pass a unique request ID to Box so we can easily track and debug any requests that fail within their application.

  15. You cannot get trashed versions via the API or deleted trashed versions

While you can GET and permanently delete FILES & FOLDERS via the API by interacting with TRASH, you cannot do so for FILE VERSIONS, e.g. GET/DELETE

  16. Expose representation via API to allow for companies to upload representations after conversions

We receive video footage from various sources in proprietary formats. We use an external agency to convert the formats to a neutral MP4 video format. Rather than loading this back into Box as a new file, we want to load it against the original source file as a mp4 representation which can then be viewed in the Web App as mp4 video.

  17. Additional Scopes

We have white labelled Box into a ServiceNow product.

The service account at the moment creates the structure for every case that is populated.

From a security perspective, we would like the service account to create content and maintain folder structures but not be able to delete or read content. The best we have at the moment is the Uploader Role which would then allow the creation of sub folders but it means that e have to:

    1. Create the base folder

    2. Assign a new owner to the folder

    3. Change the Service Account to an Uploader

    4. Create sub folders.

    At this…

  18. View the filepath of a file/folder in the Enterprise Event stream.

Our Security team is interested in monitoring confidential files (Red CCI), and to do so we need to be able to track the filepath associated with actions taken on content.

  19. Pass Basic Auth (Authorization Header) to Client Callback URL & Preliminary Callback URL when Both are Present

Using an API-based web app integration, from the "More" menu in the web app, if developer requires basic auth to complete the request, authorization header is only passed to the Preliminary Callback URL and never the Client Callback URL - even if Client Callback is the only URL present.

    Expected Behavior:
Allowing the developer to choose whether basic auth is required would imply that we would always pass the Authorization header with our requests so they can validate.

  20. Expose Box Server Time for setting JWT exp claim within expected values

Currently, there are a few different places that developers can use to sync the time of their requests which can lead to some confusion/issues with properly setting the exp claim when generating a JWT assertion.

For example, pool.ntp.org offers up a time that's ~25 seconds ahead of epochconverter.com (where support currently suggests that folks sync their time from).

Exposing the "current timestamp" somehow, or syncing up with a framework that allows users to be in sync with Box time will allow for fewer questions/issues with the JWT claims process.
