   This feature was delivered for Windows in Box Drive v2.25!
   Users can now quickly preview of files in Explorer and Box Drive search without having to open these files. 

   
   

   This feature is under consideration for macOS devices.

   Please make this feature optional. It is worse than useless for those of us with non-visual work, and makes searching in Box Drive nearly impossible.

   I wrote to the customer service department regarding the preview thumb nails in Box Drive. Previously Box Drive displayed the items by their document type—PDF, Word, Excel, etc. Now they display as tiny preview thumbnails which makes searching infinitely more difficult. Customer service says that there is no way to turn this off such that it displays the doc type again. I’m writing to request a settings features so that previews may be turned off.
