Require 2FA for certain content only (not globally)
Force 2-factor / MFA based on the type of content, folder, user. etc. - natively in Box or support this functionality through IdP

This is not something that we would consider as part of the basic virus-scan for all files today. Customers requiring advanced features such as quarantining malicious files can benefit from a CASB product with Box integration

Suppress Notifications - Expand Scope to Suppress In-App Entries in the Updates Feed & Access Stats (for DLP & CASB Integrations)
Services (like DLP and CASB partners such as Netskope and Skyhigh) that use the Content API to scan Box content have the ability to suppress email notifications that would normally be generated for various activity (such as downloads, etc.). This is great as the activity from these services should be transparent and not exposed to the end user.
However, the Suppress Notifications header currently only applies to suppressing email notifications -- these entries for activity from these API-based services still are exposed in-app to end users on the Updates feed and in other locations such as Access Stats.

Ability to insert custom words as watermark
If a user could add "Confidential" or "Company Secret" into watermarking,
the customer would be able to leave the legal evidence of the statement that the corresponding files are not allowed to disclose externally.
Also, it would be better if there is an option to set watermarking by folders as well.9 votesNot currently planned at this time.

Option to Remove Expiration of a Collaborator after Auto-Expiration is disabled
Admin request option when disabling Auto-Expiration feature for collaborators within Enterprise:
- Allow option to choose extension date for pre-existing collaborators who's access is going to expire.
- Allow option to disable/remove auto expiration for collaborators by Admin or Owner.
This will affect multiple user across our enterprise where they will have to be re-invited to folders since expiration cannot be removed.
9 votesThank you for your note! We will consider this request with additional demand.

Improve event information on shared link changes
When running Reports > Usage Logs > select all for "File Sharing" in the Admin Console, you currently only see that a user modified a Shared Link access level. This new feature would allow admins to see what access level the Shared Link was prior to and after the change.
This is important if an admin wants to know how accessible the content was when the Shared Link was initially created and shared.

Bulk extend collaboration/shared link expiration
User would like to be able to extend access at a folder level rather than one at a time.

Open Shared Link Controls: Add "Default" option for 'download' permissions on Shared Links
Example: Disable 'download' permissions on all shared links by default, but allow users to re-enable 'download' permissions on a link-by-link basis.
Allow admins to default the "Let link viewers" option in Content & Sharing in Enterprise Settings. Currently we can restrict or allow this feature, but we cannot set the default option like we can we shared link access levels.

Open Shared Link Controls: Only [specified roles in the folder] can create open links
REQUEST: The ability for admins to choose which roles (Editor, Viewer Uploader, etc.) are able to create open ('people with the link') links in folder they're in.
Currently, if you are a collaborator with permissions to create/edit a shared link, you can choose any of the 3 shared link permissions levels.
ADMIN STORY: "I want to require that only Co-Owners in folders can create open shared links. Editors and below can create shared links, but they won't be able to chase the permission to 'people with the link."
CONTEXT: Many large enterprises, and even smaller ones with a security focused…

Extend collaborations further than the default auto-expiration timeframe
When collaboration auto-expiration is in place on an enterprise level, folder owners can only extend the collaboration up to the default auto expiration timeframe. For example, if the enterprise has collaboration auto-expiration set at 90 days, the folder owner can currently only extend the collaboration for another 90 days. We would like for the folder owner to be able to extend the collaboration for a time period longer than the set collaboration auto-expiration.

MFA Excluded User List Needed
MFA Excluded User List Needed - if a user has to switch MFA devices, as of now the Admin would need to globally turn MFA off for everyone, also an admin might need to setup a box account and login as a user (say using lastpass) before the hire date, thus they need to be on an exclusion list until they start, additionally automated processes might need a login that would be excluded from MFA needs direclty within box, thus the requirement for an exclusion list for MFA that is freely adjustable.
5 votes- We will soon have the ability to download back up codes that can be used in case you don't have access to your MFA device.
- Certain Box plans have the ability to exempt specific users from MFA.
- We do have this exclusion list for external users.
Given these, we don't have plans to add an exclusion list for managed user MFA at this point.

Allow invitee to be notified of auto-expiration collaboration event
One of the settings in "auto-expiration" (Enterprise setting -> Content & Sharing) currently wrote "notify affected users" when the folder owner is the only person actually receiving the notification.

Allow security classifications to hide content if the viewer is an external collaborator
In addition to the classification level impacting sharing permissions, include the option to hide/block files from external collaborators in the folder

If there is a device limit set, the error message when you try logging in from another device should read something similar to: You have reached the max number of devices

Allow customization of webapp banner color, by providing admins with the option to choose a particular color for a classification level.
We want to be able to edit the color of the in-app classification banner. We classify the security level of content by color as a visual indicator.
4 votesThis is currently not on the roadmap as we have not heard this request from many other customers. We will consider it in the future if there is increased customer demand.
