File Versions on Mobile
Client would like to have ability for document versions to be available on Mobile. Specifically, able to review whether a document has more than one version and be able to preview older versions.
2 votesWe will not support this feature because this seems to be an edge case. Most of our customers on mobile are always trying to pull up the most up to date documentation. We can see this causing confusion for our end user when they have to manage versioning on mobile.

Ability to preview a locked file (locked by an outside program, i.e. Excel) in the iOS app
Currently, opening a locked file in the webapp will give you the option to download, at which point Excel asks for a password.
The iOS app does not show an error message that the file is locked by another program, and users cannot open or preview the file.

App launcher should use web URL, open in Box App, and encourage user to download Box App if not present.
I can create a link that will open the box app by using what is known as an applink. This technique is sometimes called Deep Linking.
'boxapp://' opens box on iOS or Android.
BUT traditionally this has left developers needing to try to catch and handle what happens when the Box app isn't already installed (which is also people's very first experience of the launcher app). This typically involves time-outs and other such messiness. By default if the app is not present, no helpful message is given. I note at present your html representation of content shows the 'get box…
2 votesThank you for your thorough description!
We support deep linking and universal links on iOS. All regular Box links should with the Box app today as long as their app invokes universal links the right way (ex: redirects ignore universal links).

Ability to choose a timestamp on the photo itself when taken.
Time/date watermark on the actual photo would help for verification of pictures when they are actually taken in case someone modifies the file.

Attach files from Box mobile app and not Files app.
Since the introduction of the Files app, it is impossible to access Box from an email except through the Files app.
If you are telling me that, post-Files, it will be impossible to attach a document from Box to an existing email chain, so be it. But that is an impediment to using Box as our mobile document management system.
2 votesThank you for your feedback! You should be able to access Box via the Files app integration in other apps. Contact Support with any questions.

This is not on the roadmap for 2019, but is a great suggestion that we may look into in the future.

Ability to control what file information is visible when viewing file list
Some users have mentioned that it is more important to them to see the entire file name rather than have it truncated and see the timestamp and other details. The ability to choose what is visible on this page might be one way to resolve this.
2 votesThis is an intentional design decision. We will re-evaluate with additional user feedback.
