I'm moving 100+ GB of data to BOX for archiving and then want to free up locally disk space. The folder is not set to sync, but there is no way to tell Box to remove the physical local copy to allow more disk space. MS One Drive has this option, but Box does not. Our organization is trying to transition to Box, but this makes it difficult to see the competitive advantage to BOX without an option to not persist a local copy of files after moving to Box in bulk, which are longer need locally.

    Is there any recommended resolution?

Product Support only have how to sync and un-sync but that doesn't really apply.

I'm moving 100+ GB of data to BOX for archiving and then need to free up my locally disk space afterward. The folder is not set to sync, but there is no way to tell Box to remove the physical local copy to allow more disk space as I'm copying to Box from Windows 11. MS One Drive has this option, but Box does not seem to as there is very little functionality integrated with windows besides BOX file location. Our organization is trying to transition to Box, but this makes it difficult to see the competitive advantage to doing so without an option to not persist a local copy of files after moving to Box in bulk, which are no longer need locally.

Is there any recommended resolution? Product Support pages only have simple guidance on how to sync and unsync a folder but that doesn't apply and doesn't help manage local space.
