    This feature is not currently planned, but it is a second-priority item for our team. A related feature—the ability to open a file in Box Drive from the web app—is on our roadmap and will be an initial step toward supporting this request. We will keep you posted on updates; please continue upvoting this request, as it helps us prioritize improvements. Thanks for your collaboration.

    Checking on status, last update from Box is Jan 2026.

    For those who sue both Box Web and Box Drive (many I'd assume), this would be a huge improvement to productivity on the Box platform.
