  1. Ability to download many watermarked documents at once in a zip

Downloading sensitive technical documents is tedious when done one at a time.

  3. Open Shared Link Controls: Only [specified roles in the folder] can create open links

REQUEST: The ability for admins to choose which roles (Editor, Viewer Uploader, etc.) are able to create open ('people with the link') links in folder they're in.

Currently, if you are a collaborator with permissions to create/edit a shared link, you can choose any of the 3 shared link permissions levels.

ADMIN STORY: "I want to require that only Co-Owners in folders can create open shared links. Editors and below can create shared links, but they won't be able to chase the permission to 'people with the link."

CONTEXT: Many large enterprises, and even smaller ones with a security focused…

  4. Non Compliant Device signing onto Device Trust seeing Domain

We have enabled Device Trust for our organization, but we noticed that when a non-compliant device attempts to use Box Sync with their Children's account, it sends a response listing the domain in which the device must be registered to.

"Device must be a member of one of the following domains: kidsnet.childrenshc.org"

We would prefer if the domain name is not sent out to the web and instead the message "Device is not a member of the allowed Domain(s)" as a security concern.

  6. Improve event information on shared link changes

When running Reports > Usage Logs > select all for "File Sharing" in the Admin Console, you currently only see that a user modified a Shared Link access level. This new feature would allow admins to see what access level the Shared Link was prior to and after the change.

This is important if an admin wants to know how accessible the content was when the Shared Link was initially created and shared.

In addition to the owner of the folder receiving a notification that a collaboration is expiring, the user who initiated (invited) the collaborator, and the collaborator themselves receive notifications.

  12. Open Shared Link Controls: Default Password Requirements for Open Shared Links

REQUEST: Admin would like the ability to set a global control whereby all public/open ('people with the link') links must have a password.

Our current controls on shared links impact all 3 Shared Link permissions causing additional impact on the user experience.

Instead of “require password” security control, we intend to support “Require OTP” requirement for public links (via SMS, Email, or TOTP). I wanted to share where we are headed. We do not plan on delivering this ask as is, but we do intend to solve the security use case behind it.

    Please comment if you disagree.

This is not something that we would consider as part of the basic virus-scan for all files today. Customers requiring advanced features such as quarantining malicious files can benefit from a CASB product with Box integration

  15. Mobile browser support on Device Trust

When Device Trust is turned on, all access from mobile browsers are blocked. There is a large number of mobile users (iPads) that need to access Box through a mobile browse as there are certain functionality that not available through the Box mobile application.

The most important things for us that iPad users may need through the browser that they can't do through the apps are the following (and this is important because most of our sales force ONLY have iPads and not PCs, leaving them no other way to perform these tasks, except potentially using VDI on their iPads).…

  16. Ability to download a watermarked Folder

We are trying to distribute bundles of secure content pertaining to movie releases and would like the ability to apply watermarks to entire folder downloads.

  19. Users with viewer permissions can't access watermarked files too big to preview

When a collaborator has Viewer permissions and downloads a watermarked file that is too large for Preview, the resulting download only shows the Preview error message with watermarking. This means that the Viewer collaborator cannot preview the file in the browser or even download a viewable copy.

In our specific case, the issue occurs with Excel Spreadsheets. The spreadsheet will contain more rows/columns/sheets than are capable of previewing in the browser.

This may be expected behavior, but we would like to be able to collaborate with Viewers while still leveraging the Watermarking feature.

  20. Enterprise whitelist to apply "internal" collaboration settings

Our parent company has a large number of subsidiaries that have their own unique EIDs for a number of reasons (branding, administration, SSO settings). We also have extremely locked down external collaboration settings and as such are requesting the ability to have a whitelist of other Box enterprises that could be subject to the internal collaboration settings (e.g. no timeout on collaboration).

We are not likely to implement this. From a customer experience perspective, it would be difficult to explain to companies not in this situation why another enterprise can enforce different collaboration settings on their users.
