  2. Limit the resources being used by Box Sync

    Users would like an option to limit the resources being used by box sync. This is affecting coworkers; it is not just an issue with machine.

    We are not planning to implement controls around this in Box Sync. You may consider trying Box Drive to see if that improves the resource utilization issue. Since it only uses bandwidth for content users access, it may help to improve things here.

  3. Add exFAT file system support

    Add support for Box Sync to work with exFAT formatted file systems (this is the best file system when trying to swap between PC and Mac).

  5. Please include the Box Sync app to use Windows 10's Metered connection setting. Disabling box sync on metered connection (Cell Hot Spots)

    Give the user the option to enable or disable syncing on a metered connection. A lot of the time I want to sync while at home or the office. But I dont need to download 500mb of co-worker changes while I just needed to check my email.

  7. Allow Box sync in Server version OS

    Since there are a lot of application that rely on UNC path, and are run in server, supporting box sync in server version will be very userful.

  8. Sync from parent of View Path Collab

    Currently cannot sync a folder from the parent of a View Path Collab. We want to use the API to add collaborations and keep the context but also let our users Sync.

  9. Enhanced Locking Experience on Sync (mimic file server experience) - Auto-Lock & Unlock

    Adapt the Box Sync / Box for Desktop lock/unlock experience to mimic the standard locking UX that users are familiar with from Windows file servers.

    Key Components:
    -Pop-up upon double-clicking a file to ask user if they'd like to check out (lock) a file or open a read-only version

  10. Allow Auto-Provisioning from Box Sync App

    Currently, users who get Box Sync pushed to their computer (so they see the pop-up Box Sync login page) but haven't gone to the webapp to auto-provision their account end up not being able to log into Box Sync as the Sync login flow does NOT support auto-provisioning.

    Request: Allow a user to auto-provision their account from any endpoint, including Box Sync.
