    This does not align with our product philosophy. Users can attach a shared link with download permissions.

    I would be interested to hear the use case for attaching files directly to the email.

    I'll give you the use case. This is about the ability to conduct business. People are happily using links internally. We are not going to ask outside governmental agencies and vendors/partners to sign up for Box accounts (which can be banned at their particular organization anyway), and we cannot/will not create open links to get files that only the email recipient should get.
    If you would allow attaching a file from Box Drive, that would be much more practical and time effective than having to download it, then attach it. And it would remove the nightmare with different versions on people's desktops.
