Notes Desktop App - Allow Multiple Windows
Users may want to have multiple Notes open at the same time. Request is to allow a user to 'double click' a note in the list on the left sidebar to open it in its own window (exactly the same UX that the native Mac Notes app already has).
1 voteThis is not a priority for the team at this time. We will reconsider with additional customer demand.

Notes Desktop App - Add App to Mac & Windows App Stores
We push users toward downloading software from the Mac and Windows App Stores, especially the Mac App Store as that is Apple's officially 'approved' method for downloading software to a computer.
3 votesThanks for the feedback! App store versions of our desktop app are not currently planned on our roadmap. We’ll continue to monitor and may revisit in a future planning cycle based on customer feedback.

Notes Desktop App - Provide .MSI / .DMG / .PKG Installers
REQUEST: Provide admin installers (specifically .pkg, .dmg, and .msi) so that large enterprises can take advantage of the Box Notes desktop app.

'Remove Formatting' / 'Clear Formatting' Option
Remove formatting entirely when a user first copy/paste something into Box Notes. Whenever I have to paste blocks of text into Notes, I first copy to a text editor, then select all and c/p from there.
The other option is a button in the header for "remove formatting." Both would be nice but the copy/paste one is way more inconvenient.
0 votesWe recommend the ‘Paste and match style’ command found in most browsers and our new desktop app.
-
Provide a Box Note Realtime API so we can create new Box Notes from our custom apps
Our users would like to be able to create a new Box Note from their own custom app menu bar.
This note would be saved in the folder from which they clicked the icon.
1 voteThank you for your note! This is not planned for the foreseeable future. We will re-evaluate this request with additional customer demand.

Support Password-Protected Shared Links for Box Notes
There's a known issue/limitation currently (https://community.box.com/t5/Managing-Your-Content/Box-Notes-Notices-and-Known-Limitations/ta-p/340) where Box Notes do not work correctly when the shared link is password-protected.
REQUEST: Allow Box Notes to have password-protected shared links just like any other file on Box.
20 votesThis is not a priority for the team at this time. We will reconsider with additional customer demand.

Allow change page size, change orientation, more fonts or font colors in Box Note
Adding more option to customize Box Note (font, format, orientation etc.) for better UX
6 votesWe intend Box Notes to be for casual documents. Meeting notes, project plans, etc.
It’s not intended for flyers, fancy collateral, perfectly formatted PDFs. For those, we still recommend a program like Microsoft Word.
We do not plan to add these types of things to Box Notes.

Ability to add attachments to Box Notes
As a collaborative editing tool, attaching related materials would be useful in many situations (today, we upload the attachments & link to them, but this presents access limitations & additional steps.)
This is essentially already allowed with the upload ability of image types, but given file level collaboration, having attachments would solve numerous issues our teams are starting to encounter.
3 votesThis is not a current focus area for the Box Notes roadmap. We are happy to reconsider with additional demand.

Enlarge checkboxes on mobile clients.
On mobile it is easier to tap the text of the item instead of the check box, causing the keyboard to pop up, etc.
0 votesThank you for the feedback. This is not currently a priority on the roadmap, but we will monitor and revisit based on user feedback.
-
Ability to lock sections of a Box Note
Currently, if a user has edit permissions on a Box Note, they can edit any part of it. We would like the ability to "lock" certain blocks of text and table headers in a note so that other users do not modify or delete these accidentally.
8 votesWe’ll keep this in mind! However, this is not currently planned.
-
Mobile App for Box Notes (Standalone)
Allow users to access Box Notes via a standalone app model on iOS / Android to make the overall experience more native.
16 votesThis is a great idea. However, it is not aligned with our prioritization for the year. We will let you know if anything changes.

Image Shared Link Permissions should Match the Box Note's Shared Link Permission
For example, when a Box Note's shared link is set to 'people with the link', all images in the Box Note should also automatically be updated to be 'people with the link' links.
The current issue is that when I set a Box Note's link to 'people with the link' but my company's shared link default is 'people in your company', all the embedded images in the Box Note are still set to 'people in your company', meaning if a non-authenticated user accesses the 'people with the link' Box Note link, they'll see 'insufficient privileges' for all the images in…
48 votesThank you for the feedback. We understand that the current permissions behavior for Box Notes images is not necessarily intuitive, and are actively looking into ways to improve that user experience. We don’t yet have a timeline for delivery, but will update here when its available.

Box Notes at its core is a collaborative product and so many features don’t make sense in a ‘Hide Collaborators’ environment. We’d suggest turning off ‘Hide Collabs’.

Checklists - Auto-Check Indented Checklists when Parent is Checked
In a Box Notes checklist, if there are indented lines, have them auto-check when the parent line is checked.
0 votesInteresting feedback. Not planned, but good to keep in mind when we improve checkboxes and the editor in the future.

Add the capability to Copy an image from another location (Ctrl+C) and Paste (CTRL) into a Box Note
