Rethink Box Notes as a Collaborative Tool
Many of the comments about Box Notes, and the shortcomings that make them seem only marginally useful to me, arise from them being treated/implemented as something totally "other", compared to other file types that one might load into Box.
Unlike other files, Box acts as if Notes all belong together rather than in the user's folder structure, and they have their own type of page or tab that is confusingly different from the standard Box interface, rather than simply opening up in an editing window if the user wants to make changes. An editing window would be much more intuitive,…

Add notifications to Box for EMM
In the Box Web browser, I can confirm that the new mention is on the left side menu "notifications" with red ● when new notifications appear. We'd like to have those notifications within Box for EMM too.

Subject Access Request reporting
UK users need to be able to provide Subject Access Reporting (by law). Everyone is entitled to a copy of their data held in the system.
Box needs to be able to report on that. Search (content and/or metadata) will provide the results, but we need a list of this content in a report as well as the ability to download all this content in a zip file.
See specific GDPR requirements here: https://ico.org.uk/for-organizations/guide-to-data-protection/principle-6-rights/subject-access-request/

Metadata field for a user name - ability to @mention or tie a metadata field to a specific user
Similar to comments or tasks, it would be helpful to be able to autofill and insert a user's name in a metadata field.
There are a lot of use cases here, e.g. establishing the content owner since oftentimes that is different from the folder owner and not easily discernible or searchable.
Current workaround would be to use the text metadata field, which leaves room for user error, typos, or using different variations on people's names. A dropdown list helps with that but isn't a feasible option if you're choosing from a large set of users.

Templates - Restrict Templates to Specific Users/Groups and/or Folder Structures
Metadata templates are currently global across an entire EID. This does not scale well for large organizations with 50,000, 100,000 or more than 200,000 users.
This request is to add 'scope' parameters to Metadata Templates such that a specific template can be restricted to...
1. A specific set of users
2. A specific set of Groups
3. A specific Folder structure105 votes -
Admin Trash -- Include Items in 'Trash' when using Search in Content Manager from the Admin Console
Search in the Content Manager does not currently include items in Trash. This is a security/eDiscovery challenge currently.

Request to increase item count per folder limit
We would like to be able to add more than 15,000 items per folder. We are working with multi-level folders structures within our environment and anticipate having more than 15,000 items within the first level of their subfolders.
8 votesWe have an internal initiative to scale up this and several other metrics. And we have made significant progress in terms of the number of items that can be stored in a Folder. I am happy to report that our research have shown that our infrastructure can easily scale up to 1 Billion items in a single Folder.
Since this initiative is underway, we are in the process of understanding how such a scale impacts the usability of our first party applications that sits on top of our platform. However, accessing such large number of items on a single folder via our APIs should be straightforward.
Disclaimer: We are not yet committing that such scale limits will be available to all pricing tiers.

Push Notifications for @Mentions
Box push notifications on iOS are very limited currently and only send the user a push notification when...
- There's a comment added to a file and they're the most recent uploader
- They've been added to a folder
The most logical other push notification to add would be for @mentions which, in theory, would increase overall adoption of comments as well.
