  1. Prevent Users from navigating to other folders when using Salesforce

Currently the Box for Salesforce integration utilizes a simple embed widget, which allows a user to navigate out of the associated Box folder to other areas of their Box account, all while still in the same Salesforce case. This is a security and use concern for some customers as files can be accidentally uploaded to folders not related to the current case. From a UI perspective, simply taking away the file path buttons would get the job done.

Delivered in Box for Salesforce v4.59. This setting can be found under Box Settings>Advanced Setup>Mapping and Folder Customization. https://support.box.com/hc/articles/33944755044115-Box-for-Salesforce-Release-Notes-v4-59

  2. Embed Allowing Search Capability within folder

Box embed should allow search within folders when using public/open shared links to the folder. This would be helpful and would allow users who are not logged in to search content shared.

  4. Box for Gmail - ability to select which attachments in an email to save to Box

This is so that users can save attachments in different folders or save only needed attachments, rather than all

When saving Gmail attachments to Box, you now have the option to de-select attachments. This allows you to selectively choose what attachment are saved rather than have all attachments be saved to Box.

  5. Show My Recent files in Box for Gmail by default

Box for Gmail: Show recently accessed files and folders by default within Box for Gmail.

Oftentimes I'm attaching a file I was recently working on, so it would be nice to not click through my entire folder structure to locate the file I want to send as a link. Gmail currently does this with Google Drive.

When attaching files from Box to Gmail, users that have recently attached files can now see those files under Recents, and can additionally see Favorites.

  6. Add a search feature to Box for Gmail

Our users have hundreds of folders and having to navigate over multiple pages is very time consuming.

  10. Security Report: Log when apps are disabled/enabled in the Admin Console

Currently, when admins/co-admins mark apps as 'available' or 'disabled' in the Admin Console -> Enterprise Settings -> Apps page, no reporting event is triggered, meaning companies have no way to self-identify who enabled/disabled which applications/endpoints, and this is a major security concern for some customers.

REQUEST: Add entries to the Security Report in the admin console whenever:
    1. A published app's status is changed between Available, Disabled, and Added by Default (via the Enterprise Settings -> Apps page)
    2. An API key is added/removed from the Unpublished Applications Whitelist field on Enterprise Settings -> Apps

  12. Slack: Show Preview of Box Files within Slack

Currently, the Box + Slack integration auto-unfurls Box shared links that are posted into a DM/Channel in slack.

The only Box file type that unfurls to a native (in-line) preview are image files (jpg, png, etc.).

Slack has a native preview for a video file uploaded directly in Slack, but no preview for the same file when shared via Box.

REQUEST: Add in the native (in-line) preview (that already exists for image files shared from Box) for many more common file types (Office files, PDFs, mp4s, etc.) -- possibly by leveraging the Box Preview API.

  15. Office Online - Support .xlsb Format

Excel Online generally supports opening and editing .xlsb format - see here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2028380

However, the Box + Office Online integration does NOT support .xlsb format.

REQUEST: Add support for .xlsb file format with the Box + Office Online integration

  20. Outlook Web App (OWA): Add Box Integration

Customers with O365 Microsoft licenses need a way to attach from Box in OWA (Outlook Web App). Currently the Outlook web integration only extends to the free version, i.e. Outlook.com (https://www.box.com/blog/new-ways-to-work-box-office/).
