All of this would be a superb QoL improvement.

This feature is not currently planned, but it is a second-priority item for our team. A related feature—the ability to open a file in Box Drive from the web app—is on our roadmap and will be an initial step toward supporting this request. This would be a wonderful idea, having so many folks working remote, just sayinnnnnn....

Not sure if this is of any help, but I realized that all Box directories/files have a unique number associated when sharing, and maybe there's a way of performing a search using that number in the Search on Box feature that would immediately populate the result with that specific shared file/folder.
It'd be more of a "behind-the-scenes" thing as opposed to putting that number front and center. Food for thought...
