    Specific to this request, we do not plan to expose the ability to mark up a file (with highlights, drawings, etc.) with annotations that aren’t visible to other users. The primary use case for annotations in Box is to share feedback on a given file, like these examples:
    “Update this paragraph to be here instead” on a document or “Change the color of this to blue” on an image

    This is common in traditional ECM platforms. For insurance customers, a common example might be the need to add multiple policy numbers to a document as metadata. It would NOT make sense to have a drop down of ALL policy numbers to choose from since there would potentially be millions.
