Selecting files on the Box UI
I recently noticed a change in Box in the while you can select files. Before, you can click on a filename or multiple filenames and it would just be a selection. Now it seems to launch the file. If you want to select the file you have to click on the ballot box to the it’s right now. Our team much prefers the previous way before it was closer to how a desktop UI behaves.

Disable new drag and drop clouds security feature
The new drag and drop cloud game to view a file is horrible. The reason we went with BOX was to present our materials professionally with a visually attractive preview. We can't send files with a drag and drop security game to our clients. Please provide an option to disable that.

Shortcut Function for Instant Bookmark Creation
I suggest the implementation of a "Shortcut Function" for immediate bookmark creation when issuing a shared link. Here's how it would work:
Procedure: Right-click on the file or folder intended for bookmarking.
Functionality: A new bookmark (file) is instantly generated and stored in the same folder.
Result: A shared link is automatically associated with the targeted file or folder, with default access permissions. The generated bookmark can be easily moved or duplicated to necessary folders, serving as a centralized shortcut for convenient access to the targeted file or folder.
This addition would significantly enhance user efficiency and contribute to a…1 vote -
Notify Box app users to refresh for latest updates on Content Preview and Content Explorer UI elements
Currently, when Box app users access files through the Content Explorer and the Content Preview UI elements, there is no visible indication that one or more files have been updated simultaneously by managed users.
As a result, users may not be aware of the latest changes or modifications made to the files. To ensure that app users benefit from new updates, I kindly request the implementation of a notification message within the Content Preview and Comtent Explorer elements. This notification message would dynamically appear whenever one or more files have been updated, prompting app users to refresh their page to…

Change the file lock icon back to red
After the Shield File and Folder Badges update, the file lock icon changed from red to grey.
https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/9790388093075-File-and-Folder-BadgesIt is harder to see now so it would be great if you can change it back to red.

Shortcut for file locking
When you open a file and click the "Lock file to prevent others from editing it" message can we have some simple click boxes showing the lock time options rather than a drop menu, this would solve the problem where the application opens before you get chance to lock the file..

Enhance error messages when storage exceeded to identify which account is over storage
When a user uploads an item to a folder that would exceed the quota, it says "Account storage limit reached." This is misleading if the folder is owned by another user. Users ask for more quota, but it's a different account that has the problem. Please identify the folder owner of the folder that's over quota in the error message.
This applies both to Web UI and Box Drive error messages.

Pre-Selecting item on new list view & grid view
Previousely list view was shown information in the right pane by ジュst only selecting an item with the cursor like a Stepping stone.
You can't do that with the new UI.
Check >shown > Uncheck >move next item> Check next >shown>Uncheck....and more...
it's not speedy action.
We know that pre-selected items by cusor↓↑key, move to checkbox using tab key then enter key, then check each item. But need keyboard shortcuts easier.
Like a round robbin.

Organizing Shared folders. Can't rely on collaborators to do it.
It would be very helpful if I could move shared folders into a "folder" (choose your term for some thing that would mimic a folder) that would allow me to group all shared folders together. Ideally, I would be able to create my own hierarchy within that folder to be able to organize all of the shared folders how I want vs. just having every shared folder cluttering up my Box root level. I know I can use Collections, however, Collections don't show up in Box Drive.

Ability to right click a folder/file and select "Open Link in a New Tab" … same exact UI as web browser experience
Ability to right click a folder/file and select "Open Link in a New Tab" … same exact UI as web browser experience.
Today I can open an individual file in a new browser tab by pressing [Command + Click], but it is not intuitive.

Bring back previous method of highlighting files
Having to click on the checkbox to the right of files is FAR less intuitive than being able to click anywhere on the body of the file "line." It was much easier and more efficient to be able to just click and shift/ctrl click to highlight multiple files.

Ability to upvote or interact with content in Box with Emojis, similar to what you can do in Slack
This is especially important if you want to have a large vote on content in Box (e.g. Box Hackathon) without massively blasting everybody with notifications.

Bring back the comments icon
I get so many notifications it's hard to manage notifications. Can you bring back the comment icon on a file that someone has added their notes to? Unless I click on the file to open it up, I can't tell someone has left a comment or change. Thanks!

Move / Copy status
it would better if there is also a window that shows the status of moves or copies in box, similar to uploads.

Allow me to set default sorting to alphabetical anywhere
Please, pretty please — allow me to set default sort of folder contents to alphabetical within a folder, for any folder. Should be an option under Settings for the folder.
I have folders numbered for steps in a publication process, and I have to click "Name" every single *#$% time I display the folder list because it defaults to most recent. I may need to access any step in the process at any point in time; recent is USELESS to me. This is sooooo cognitively draining because I am touching dozens to 100s of files a day.
Note: this is…

Admin, content owner, and/or content co-owners can lock folders in the native UI so that they can't be moved.
Make Owner/Co-Owner folder lock available in native web interface. It's really bad if a folder that shouldn't be moved gets moved by an Editor. Right now, this is only available via API https://developer.box.com/reference/post-folder-locks/

Show size of all files in a folder
When downloading, it would be useful to compare the total size of what has been downloaded to the total size of what is being downloaded. Files have sizes listed, not sure about folders, but a total of whatever is on the page, or what is selected would be useful.

Fix broken "reverse waterfall" permissions
Fix broken "reverse waterfall" permissions.
When I change subfolder permissions to give someone higher permissions (e.g. Editor to Co-Owner), it changes the parent folder permissions too.
This makes sense that you wouldn't be able to give someone lower permissions in the subfolder than the parent folder, but makes no sense the other way around.
