Box Drive Should Show Files With Illegal Filenames or Characters
We need Box Drive to be able to point to the offending error in Windows Explorer or Finder. Click on the offending file, folder is opened and file is selected in Windows Explorer or Finder in order to fix.
33 votesThis is not something that we have on the roadmap for the foreseeable future. Notifications were suppressed for these items and we will be investigating different ways to make problem items in general more discoverable.

Support multiple accounts in Windows file explorer.
As a technology consultant I have multiple business Box accounts. I need to be able to easily access all my Box folders from the Windows desktop not just one at a time. OneDrive and DropBox both offer multiple account support in Windows Explorer. Lack of this support is the main reason I am not recommending Box for many of my corporate customers due to this inconvenience

Make Box Drive Mark for Offline (MFO) file accessible when Box Drive not running
Would like for files in Box Drive that are marked for offline (MFO) to be accessible whether or not Box Drive is currently running (e.g. before Box Drive starts up at login). Currently, offline files are only available after the Box Drive software has loaded -- this poses a problem for files that need to be available at user login time like the user profile files (Desktop/Documents/etc.). Box Sync worked fine for this purpose, but Box Drive MFO does not.
11 votesBox Drive needs to be run in order to access any of the content or features of the product.

Show icon in Drive for parent folders when sub-folders are marked for offline
Currently, users are easily able to manage the hard drive space being used by BOX by simply checking into their sync folder and deciding then what they may prioritize as necessary to sync or un-sync at a quick glance. Even in the instances where there are multiple folders and sub-folders included, it’s a clear representation of what’s being synced at the time.
These same users currently sync A LOT of files within a fairly deep folder structure, so not having an insight into which folders are taking up space only leaves a user to chicken peck around in the hopes…

Box for Office integration with Mac OSX
We would like Box for Office desktop integration w/Mac OSX. Some use the web apps for o365. Some use Office 2016 for mac that connects into o365.
38 votesThe Box for Office integration is not available on Mac due to technical limitations, but we do already support a native Mac Outlook integration with Box: https://community.box.com/t5/Box-for-Outlook/Installing-Enabling-and-Disabling-Box-for-Outlook/ta-p/66374

Disallow special characters that are not accepted by Windows Explorer or Mac Finder
in order to minimize issues with prohibited characters in Box Drive/Sync.
14 votesWe don’t have plans to disallow the use of certain characters on Drive, but we can consider improving the UX when a file error occurs due to one of these unsupported characters

Ability to re-arrange All Files page on Drive, including external folders, for organizational purposes.
We would like to be able to move non-owned and external folders around for organizational purposes on their private Drive, without impacting the actual external/owner of the folder. For example: Company X shared Folder A with me at Company Y. I would like to move Folder A to my Company X folder in Drive so it's not clogging my All Files page (without this impacting Company X's folder).
9 votesThanks for the suggestion! We’re looking at ways to improve content sprawl in the future on Box Drive. We’ll consider your suggestion, along with other options, to help solve this problem.

Granular caching ability for Box Drive
Right now, Box Drive pre-caches any content within a folder as it’s accessed. This can create an issue if there is a large file (~1 GB Executable) in the folder on Box which causes the native file explorer to hang.
We would like granular caching ability for Box Drive to set a file size so that not everything needs to be pre-cached.
5 votesAs some commenters noted, files are not cached automatically when users access a folder. Rather, the metadata on the files within a folder get cached. Files themselves will only be cached/downloaded if a user double-clicks on them.

Allow Excel's Shared Workbook feature to work on Box.
Microsoft Excel has a feature called Shared Workbook that allows multiple users to edit Excel file simultaneously and still migrate each modifications into each others' Excel files.
Box doesn't support this type of feature, but Google and Dropbox supports to notify users on (Office) file modification status to provide similar feature / user experience.
Dropbox:

Add pdf support in the save to box option
The "save as" option in Office support pdf extension but this is not included in the "save to box" option. If a user wantss to upload a pdf (originated from office) there are a couple more steps they have to do.

Consistent Search behavior between drive and webapp
Both the webapp search and Box Drive search call the same search API, but the ordering returned by the API is different, possibly because the API takes the requesting client (webapp or desktop) into account. This is a request for consistent behavior between desktop and webapp
10 votesWhile we are looking into making search improvements on Box Drive, the search results may not exactly mirror what’s in the web app

Hide/Turnoff Box Drive Error message
With Box Drive, users are getting many error messages pertaining to incompatible file names. Users would like the ability to prevent continued notification since most of these files do not below to them. Possibly could be handled with a [Dont show again] or [Remove from alerts] check box
11 votesYou can disable notifications through OS controls for Box Drive. That being said, we are working on improving error handling in Drive to address the root problems and hopefully lead you to disabling notifications as they are an important part of our UX!
-
Allow users to know whether a file has been updated via Box Drive.
Add notifications on file updates within Box Drive. If a file is currently updated, we need to view notifications in the web browser as Box Drive does not show this.
