Grid View - Bring Back The Slider (adjusts the image size previews in Grid View)
Recent changes to the Grid View noted here, https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/10117683547539-List-view-and-grid-view-enhancements, have removed a key feature that had become part of my companies workflows.
Prior to this update, the Grid View had an slider next to the button we use to toggle between the Grid and List views. Today, that slider is gone.
Now the ONLY way to view the Grid is as thumbnails. My company of 500+ uses Box daily and a BIG part of our workflows relies on this feature. We never imagined this would be removed and it is causing us to discuss alternative options. We are an…

Enable Box Web column headings to be displayed when scrolling down beyond first page of content
Currently, as soon as user scrolls down beyond first page of content, the column headings are lost.
There should be a user-level configuration setting that enables the headings to remain on screen (similar to Excel where column headings can be frozen/displayed, despite scrolling down several pages of rows
3 votesColumn headers are now frozen in All Files, and Collections.

Improve accessibility to make sure screen readers work while limiting downloads
There is gap in the product today relating to voice over tools with specifically only shared links with preview only privileges and collaboration with previewer only privileges and lower. The gap is that the html text is suppressed.
We need to limit downloads via shared link or using Previewer access while making sure individuals who need screen readers are not denied access.
1 voteThis issue has been resolved. It is now possible to read View Only documents using a screen reader. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused for screen reader users. Box is committed to equitable access and welcomes feedback on the Accessibility of our products.

Menus are cut off and unusable
When I select one of the files closest to the top of the list, the menu options for "open with" and sometimes "download" are cut off. No matter how I resize my screen I can't reach those menu items. This is an issue across multiple computers, usually using Chrome.

Allow default sorting to "Favorites" and created "Collections" so that they appear alphabetically.
If you have dozens or hundreds of folders in your "Favorites" and they are not sorted alphabetically, then it is nearly impossible to find your subject folder. Just make Favorites and Collections default sort alphabetically or give us the choice to set the default. Other people may want the last visited folder to be at the top, but still others may want to see it alphabetically. Please give us the option to do so as a default treatment.
58 votesThanks for the feedback. Favorites and collections are now sorted alphabetically in the left sidebar.

Simplify "File Request" window
I have users on my team still using ShareFile to specifically "request files" from external people because the process is simpler. Three key suggestions for the Box "File request" feature:
1) Can you streamline the pop-up window to focus on the "link" versus the embed widget link. 2) Expose the option/checkbox of the requestor to receive an email when the content is uploaded.
3) Allow the requestor to adjust the expiration date. Default would be tied to the admin link share policiesThanks!

Saving File Request Options
If you open “…” > File Request in the folder, you will see the “File Request” function.
There are 4 items in “Customize options” of file request.
There is a checkbox for each.If you close the screen with this checkbox selected, the next time you open it, it is unchecked.
Can there be a save button so that we are not mistaken that we selected settings for the link? Or can the settings remain checked so that when we re-open the option, we can see that we did select settings for the link?

Allow edit access on shared links
Currently, we can choose the access permissions for shared links. However, we want a way to grant edit permission after accessing the link. (Not through the way of adding a collaborator and then sending a shared link to invited people)
We would like to request that you consider adding the edit permission which we can set for shared links
in your future release. It is very difficult for us when we want to edit files for multiple people temporarily because we have to create a dedicated area and assign the permissions every time.
It would also be very helpful if…

Collaborator list size is too small
We have a few users complaining the list view is limited.
Why is this constrained to only 11 collaborators per page? The paginated UX is cumbersome16 votesI’m pleased to report that this change has now been released to all users. When looking at the Collaborators page for a given file or folder, you should now see far more than just 10 users per page, meaning less pagination clicks for you.

uninterupted upload
Allow failed uploads to resume from failure point. This is especially helpful for large file transfers. DropBox provides this functionality.

Email Upload feature that uploads content of email, not just attachments
Currently, with the way the Email Upload feature works, is it uploads attachments into the folder specified. Can we also add a feature where it give us the option to store the text content of the emails as well?

Add a personal message box when inviting a collaborator to a FILE
Currently this process is completed via the Box Web interface. When we grant access to a folder, we are given a personal message text box that allows the user to leave a comment, or instruction for the audience the user is sending the collaboration to. Currently, when sending an invite to collaborate on a FILE, the user must send a separate email, giving direction to the employee receiving the collaboration invite to a file. Having this enhancement added would remove one step of inviting a collaborator to a file.

Make the "More Options" menu more visible in the Preview mode.
We would like to see something similar to the menu you see (tags, email, download, move/copy, etc.) when you highlight a file name in a folder list, but perhaps smaller icons/buttons.
1 voteWe’re making the ‘more options’ menu much more visible as part of some usability enhancements to the web app that are rolling out currently.
