Allow edit access on shared links
Currently, we can choose the access permissions for shared links. However, we want a way to grant edit permission after accessing the link. (Not through the way of adding a collaborator and then sending a shared link to invited people)
We would like to request that you consider adding the edit permission which we can set for shared links
in your future release.
It is very difficult for us when we want to edit files for multiple people temporarily because we have to create a dedicated area and assign the permissions every time.
It would also be very helpful if there is a feature which allows us to edit only users who know the shared link

My organization has a big file storage conundrum - we have both Box (paid, unlimited storage) and Google Drive (free, 30 GB limit per user) provisioned accounts. The org culture is heavily swayed towards Google files, especially for collaboration.
I want to move my department towards the everything is stored and created within Box (even if a Google file), but the inability to use shared edit links is a major adoption barrier. I understand it can be helpful for security, but as other users have mentioned, it is a huge barrier when you just want to allow editing from a larger population without having to manually add them as collaborators. In our use case, we would want the permissions to be "allow view, edit, and download" for *people in your company* as a way to preserve a level of security AND make collaborating easier.

I love being able to send shared links for viewing content -- but what I don't love is the lack of capacity to send a shared *edit* link. For instance, I want my company (or 50 people, or 10,000 people) to be able to add their name to a petition.
In Google Sheets it is easy, as it is with Microsoft OneDrive. In Box it appears I need to manually add 10,000 email addresses for this to work in edit mode.
Am I wrong? I am using out of bounds platforms for what has been a table stakes menu item option in competing document management solutions.
