An additional use case... User receive a Box link via email to a file or folder. They want to work on multiple files or sub-folders at that location and it is more efficient to navigate from Box Drive within Windows Explorer.
I would also add that there is a Box Drive function to open on Box.com. This request supports reciprocity.

This change would require a shift to a completely new architecture, which is not planned at this time.

<username> being part of the Box Drive path has been mitigated, as it i now possible to establish the Box Drive Root elsewhere; e.g. C:\box. However, this still won't support the requested feature given the way Box handles permissions; not all users have the same top level structure, so there is not "full path" that would work for anyone.
I suggest the feature request to have the ability to open Box Drive from a location on Box.com would address this request to a degree.
