Create shared link to a nested page in a Box Hub
Our Box Hubs audience consists of mostly external partners, so we design our Box folder structure and Box Hubs with a novice user in mind. For a critical marketing campaign, I have created a nested page in our main partner shared Hub, but I don't have the ability to create a shared link for just that page that I can post in a call out on our separate partner-specific "sub Hubs." My callout includes instructions to look for the page on the left nav, but it would be nice to be able to link directly to the nested page.

Bring back "Open Containing Folder" to the top of the Box Note menu (or allow customization)
Hi Box Team,
I would like to share some feedback regarding the user interface of Box Notes.
Previously, the option to open the folder containing the current Box Note was located right at the top of the hamburger menu. This was incredibly convenient. However, with recent updates, this option has been pushed further and further down the list.
To be honest, actions like viewing comments or inserting images are rarely used in my daily workflow compared to navigating back to the source folder. Having to scroll down every single time just to open the folder has made the user experience…

Adding AI activities to the User Activity Report
Box AI reporting is currently only available to tenants on the Enterprise Plus plan.
Box AI is now available to tenants with the business plan or above, but since operation logs cannot be confirmed from reports, auditing is not possible, making it unusable for businesses and posing a fatal security flaw.
In order to use and utilize Box AI, please make sure that AI activities are output regardless of your plan.(日本語訳)

Using public Beta for Folder Insights with Editor permissions
Most users who need Folder Insights are editors.
Also, invitations are often restricted for security reasons.
I would like to see Folder Insights and reports downloadable even for invite-restricted editors.-in Japanese-

Support for shared links in MCP
Add a shared link resolution tool to the Box MCP server that accepts a Box shared link URL and returns the corresponding file or folder ID and metadata. Shared links are the primary way our users share content in Box, and without this capability, an agent cannot act on a shared link that a user provides directly. Users share links with colleagues as a natural part of their workflow; they should be able to share them with an AI agent the same way.

Hubs permission model should be more granular
Currently in the Box Hubs Beta, all collaborators invited into a Hub receive the "Viewer" permission on files and folders linked in the Hub. This does not allow for Hub content to be view-only and block downloading of content. Alternative methods of managing this such as rolling out classification policies would not be scalable as Hubs usage grows. It would be great if Hubs collaboration could be more granular and there was an ability to invite users or groups into a Hub with other permissions such as "Previewer" so they are more restricted on what they can do after accessing…

Ability to invite external unmanaged users into Box Apps
We are requesting a new feature that allows external (unmanaged) users to be invited into Box Apps.
Use Case Example:
A law firm wants to share categorized legal documents with their clients through Box. Currently, Box Apps enable internal users to view and manage files with rich metadata, making it easy to organize and automate workflows. However, clients cannot access these metadata views directly. Customers should have the ability to view this structure and even work with it to launch automations and processes, as well as search their documents more easily.21 votes -

Enable Box AI to Analyze and Generate Insights from Comments in Activity Feed
Many users rely heavily on Box comments for collaboration and knowledge sharing. It would be extremely valuable if Box AI could process comments—summarize discussions, extract insights, and generate relevant content based on comment threads. Other chat platforms now leverage generative AI to distill conversation history, provide summaries, and surface actionable insights, all of which greatly enhance productivity.
I would love to see Box AI extend its capabilities to include comment threads in the Activity feed, allowing users to gain more value from collaborative discussions directly within Box. Thank you for considering this enhancement!

Color annotations available when Offline on Mobile
For use of Box document management functionality on mobile and tablet, we would like Box mobile to provide offline functionality, IE when the device goes offline, we would like a user to have the following capability
- be able to view the document offline INCLUDING all the annotations that existed on it.
- be able to create more annotations on the document WHILE offline
- those annotations merged back to the online version when the device comes back online.Use Case: For field engineers that work in shifts in areas with limited and patchy internet access, they need to access…

Filter on multiple text values in text data type
Currently, a metadata field needs to already be a multiselect to use the Match Any to allow form multiple match cases for a given metadata field. If the data type is a text field you and only match on one value.
Essential, we would like to be able to create an OR conditional match on multiple values for a text field when querying metadata in a Box App View.
4 votesPlease note that filtering by multiple text values across all the metadata is already possible in Box Apps, either with the Natural Language Query (https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/48755807432211-AI-powered-search-and-filtering-in-Box-Apps) or using "OR" in the keyword search.

Unable to add a content to a Hub site due to folder settings and Enterprise settings
When an user who is invited as editor to contents at folder level or file level tries to choose q folder or file to add a Hub site, those files and folders are grayed out and unable to choose.
this is due to the invite is limited at enterprise setting or folder setting as below./ At Enterprise settings, Box amin checks "only the admin, fokder owner and co-owers can nvite collaborators"
or
/At folder settings, "only folder owenrs and co-owners can send collaborators invites" is checkedThis is bit strange because the user is editor, but it seems that…

Editing Box Hubs: Adding a description to a file or folder
I'd like to be able to add a short description to each file and folder I add to the Hub.
For example, a description is added just below the file or folder icon, or a speech bubble appears when you hover the cursor over the file or folder icon.24 votesThis feature is under consideration and we plan to start working on it soon

Hide contributors on Box Hubs
Customers need the ability to hide who their published Hubs are shared with. They are sharing information with multiple customers who may be competitors of one another, and want to prevent them from seeing who else is accessing the information.

Add # of files to Box Hubs Report
Box Hubs fails if there are over 10,000 files linked to in the hub. It would be helpful to have a report that could report the total number of files available in a hub to help ensure we stay below this limit and/or if we exceed this limit, we can move content to a different hub and judge the impact of moving specific folders to better balance the load.
29 votesWe still plan to make this feature but it was deprioritized comparing to other features on our roadmap.

Prevent file duplication when using template and file replacement
Box Sign allows the creation of templates that replace the underlying document within a signature request / template while keeping the existing field placeholders in place.
However, using a different document than the pre-set document will result in duplicate files identical to the original document in the destination folder of the Sign document.
This means that one unnecessary file is generated each time the template is used once.
If a template is used 100 times, there can be as many as 100 unnecessary files!
Of course, this will not occur if no files are replaced. However, it is common to…49 votes -
Box Hubs - Ability to Share Hub with All Managed Users
We have a number of Hubs that are geared towards providing information to all employees. As such, it would be great to be able to share a Hub with all managed users. In addition, it would be helpful to have the ability to share any file or folder with all managed users without having to create and manage and all users group or adding multiple groups to a file/folder to accomplish this.
