Feature Request: Version Control & Recovery for Box Hubs
Summary
Add version history and rollback capability for Box Hubs, similar to file versioning, to prevent permanent data loss when hub content is deleted or modified unintentionally.
Description
Currently, when a tab or item within a Box Hub is deleted, it cannot be recovered. This presents a risk in collaborative environments where hubs are edited by multiple users. Unlike files and folders in Box, hubs have no version history, audit-friendly recovery options, or restore points.
Proposed Functionality
Version history for Box Hubs (similar to files)
Ability to:
Restore a previous version of a hub
Recover deleted tabs or sections
View who made changes and when
Optional retention period (e.g., 30/60/90 days) before permanent deletion
Business Impact
Prevents accidental data loss
Improves governance and auditability
Aligns hub behavior with existing Box file version control
Reduces support burden and admin intervention
Use Case
A user accidentally deletes a hub tab containing curated links and documentation. Even with admin and Box Support involvement, the content cannot be recovered. Version rollback would immediately resolve this scenario.
