Instead of “require password” security control, we intend to support “Require OTP” requirement for public links (via SMS, Email, or TOTP). I wanted to share where we are headed. We do not plan on delivering this ask as is, but we do intend to solve the security use case behind it.

This is a security no brainer. Add the check box to require passwords on shared linkes.

And in similar vein, the ability to see how many times a link has been accessed (and pie in the sky, from what IP)

I have voted for this and kindly ask for reconsideration. I assume the requestor had an issue like mine where an errant click created an open shared link for a Top Level folder. We are okay with them deep down the folder tree, but not the top. Only way to prevent is to restrict all sharing...

This is a security no-brainer. Add a check box to require (or at least default) to having a password apply to shared links.
