    Thank you for the suggestion. We currently do not have this planned on our roadmap. We will place this in our backlog as we continue evaluating ideas to improve Box Drive.

    Thanks for the suggestion! This is an awesome idea, but due to competing priorities, this is feature request not currently on our immediate roadmap.

    The "competing priorities" are things like Dicom image collaboration (SMH). How is that a priority over something that huge numbers of people need?

    Box has always had the same problem as Microsoft has had over the years; add new features but fail to improve or remove bugs from existing features.

    The Embed Widget is widely used but is generally terrible. It needs a whole slew of fixes including:

    Remove header
    Make PDF previews work correctly in Safari and Firefox
    Provide widget settings in the same dialog box as where users copy the code
    Full preview of files located in an embedded folder

    Why Box has not improved the embed widget over the last many years is a mystery to me. It is the single most clunky thing Box has.

    Styling the embed widget for use on a website is an absolute must and should be high on the priority list given that when the public DOES see the current widget on a website, they no doubt think, "what is this terrible looking thing? Oh, it's from Box, that makes sense."

    This ability has been requested multiple times and needs to be addressed. The embed widget is super ugly for use on a public website.

    This is an absolute must for embedding PDFs on a web page. They default to about 35% but would be better to 10% in my situation. There needs to be a setting for zoom level.

    Absolutely a must-have feature. The login button makes no sense to visitors viewing the widget on a public website.

    We are currently not planning to implement this feature and will continue to prevent all Box Drive results from appearing in Explorer/Finder searches.

    Box Drive does not download the all of the metadata (File name, folder structure, etc.) of your Box content. Instead, it is downloaded on demand and then evicted when it is no longer relevant. This eviction process is not visible to users and it is not easily predictable. This would cause the search results in Explorer/Finder to be inconsistent for users – sometimes they would find a file and other times they may not if the metadata and file were evicted.

    We have chosen not to download all of the metadata (and then keep it up to date with changes) as this can result in a large performance, storage and bandwidth tax which is not scalable – especially in environments where users interface with millions of files/folders.
