Thanks for your feedback. We unfortunately don't have plans to support a Linux client for Box Drive at this time.

Thank you for the feedback. Adding a Box Notes client for Linux it is not aligned with our prioritization for the year, but we will let you know if anything changes.

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, we do not have plans to add support for Linux to the web app at this time. We’ll continue to monitor this thread to gauge interest, and will post updates should our plans change in the future.

I work for a major research university that uses Box as it's primary cloud storage solution for faculty, staff and students. I know that the majority of the research labs use linux and more staff are switching to linux as their primary OS. Not having feature parity in linux is a major issue that is only growing within our institution. As it stands now, we may be forced to migrate solutions in the future if Box is unable to keep up with competitors and provide at least a minimum set of features for all major operating systems.
As a side note, even Microsoft is starting to promote linux on the desktop. I am sure they are already working to improve their support for linux beyond the onedrive that already exists with instructions on how to configure and run onedrive on linux to sync local files. Just a thought but if I was working at Box I would be getting nervous about future relevance in this space... but I am just a developer, what do I know.
