Request for Box to allow use of Safari View Controller
In iOS 9, Apple released the SafariServices framework with the new "Safari View Controller". This is a way for iOS apps to embed a full-fledged browser, instead of web views.
Benefits of using Safari View Controller:
- Supports certificate based-app natively (system component with access to certs outside the app sandbox).
- Supports secure connections (trusted host verification, etc) natively.
- Supports all web technology on SSO pages natively (full web browser).1 vote -

With the launch of Metadata Driven Retention, customers now have the ability to set retention policies based on certain Classification values. For example, if a customer creates a Classification = GxP, then the customer can also create a Retention Policy such that any files that are classified as GxP are retained for X time period.

This is the expected behavior of this feature; if it is not functioning correctly, send in a Support ticket so we can help.

Forward-Looking Legal Hold / Indefinite Date Range Until Lifted / Optional End Date for Holds
User Story: I want to put a custodian on Legal Hold retroactively (which is already possible in Legal Holds) AND for all activity (content, etc.) going forward (aka that they continue to add in a forward-looking manner) until the hold is lifted.
TL;DR - Make the 'End Date' field Optional (just like the Start Date is already).

Every file version under retention is immutable. The customer can also use the event stream to understand what version their users and external users accessed.

Allow administrative "As-User' calls to bypass steps that require user intervention, such as accepting Custom Terms of Service.
As-User calls made by an admin, on behalf of the user, should not require any end user interaction to work. This supports API driven administration prior to making Box available to end users, which is common when deploying at scale or performing data migrations.
In particular, non-acceptance of Custom Terms of Service and Uncompleted Email Verification currently cause such calls to fail until the end user takes action to complete them.
makes the migration process overly complex.7 votesGreat feedback. Currently, there is no Email Verification required today for app users, and we do have a Terms of Service API: developer.box.com/reference#terms-of-service-object

Templates - Raise Max. Templates per EID to More than 50
EIDs are currently limited to a max of 50 Metadata Templates. This request is to significantly raise the limit of the total number of Metadata Templates per EID.
4 votesWe have now raised the limit to 500 templates per enterprise.

Provide a way to delete or rename (API name) a metadata key
Once a mistake is made when creating a metadata template or key there is no way to delete the content. This poses a serious issue for developers especially if their code manages multiple EIDs. If a mistake is made, application code must be altered which is more difficult than being able to delete a key.
Having the ability to create templates via the API is not a real solution as one could always make a mistake in their template creation code.

Add "FOLDER.TRASHED" event trigger to Webhooks v2
The existing event trigger "FOLDER.DELETED" only triggers a notification when a folder is permanently removed (deleted from Trash). Currently, there is no option to receive a webhook notification if a folder is sent to the trash. "FOLDER.MOVE" does not capture this action either.

"Save As" different file format option from Office applications
Currently you can only save the document to Box as it is, but end users are accustomed to being able to save documents as a different file format from within Word/Powerpoint/Excel (especially saving to pdf format). Current functionality means users must "save as" locally first, and then upload to Box which is an extra step compared to what they're currently doing.
