Support for Spotlight on macOS is out with the release of version 2.53 (https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/53361463306515-Box-Drive-v2-53-Release-Notes).
The request will be left in the "gathering feedback" stage, as Finder/File Explorer search functionality does remain limited.

This is a great idea and would be very useful. Having to add people individually in order for them to receive an email defeats the entire convenience of having group aliases available. Normal-course users do not notice the small 'notification,' and require an email to pay attention to a new item shared with them as a group.

It would be extremely helpful to be able to save your search preferences (like, for example, search "Folders only." Such a simple add, and so much duplicative efforts avoided. Or, for example, to only be able to search in the folder you are currently looking at.
