Is this something that's on the roadmap to have equal Windows and Mac versions?

gathering feedback  ·  AdminJack (Admin, Box) responded

Support for Spotlight on macOS is out with the release of version 2.53 (https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/53361463306515-Box-Drive-v2-53-Release-Notes).

The request will be left in the "gathering feedback" stage, as Finder/File Explorer search functionality does remain limited.
