Select folders to sync
Select folders to sync with Box Drive rather than having to sync all folders.
Thanks for the feedback! Users already have the ability to selectively sync (mark content for offline access) today in Box Drive. What I believe you’re asking for is a curated view of content you select to show up in Box Drive. That’s something we’re considering as we think about how to solve the content sprawl issue in Box Drive.

The ability to select folders in Box to sync to Box Drive is a must-have for our institution. This will prevent unwanted files/folders from being synced to a local computer and it will also prevent large-sized folders from being cached on the local computer hard drive.

Having some folders that we want to synchronise in local on computer trough Box Drive and some other that we don't want to synchronise is a BASIC feature.
Some of yours competitors solutions do these very well.
When I see that this have been reported in 2019 and that now in 2022 nothing changed since, I believe I made a wrong choice with Box solutions.
Hope to see something coming soon otherwise I will considering to leave Box solution just because of this missing Feature.

The ability to mark folders "shared with me" to flow through to Box Drive, or not, would be a great tool allowing users to control which folders they see in their Finder or File Explorer. Would love to see this get some love! Thx.

Yes, I would like to be able to choose the folder that I can view, because I have a lot of heavy data that until now has not finished updating and limits the capacity of my computer.

I would also add that being able to name the folders somethingg meaningful to you on the drive would be hugely helpful. I have multiple subfolders shared with me and the context from the owner is implied from the full path - which I don't see, so I get folders with stupid names like 'test' because I am contributing to the test process within a project. I then end up with multiple meaningless very similar names and no idea where to look

More importantly, sometimes we don't want a whole folder (or subfolder) - just a single file to be made offline. Please allow files to be marked for offline use only

I am using box drive and would love to be able to select what show up in my explorer view. As the current Box Limitsize is limited by the physical HDD size of my machine. This not only enable me to use my full capapcity of my box and reduce the number of folders I see in my explorer.

I am still using Box Sync specifically for this reason. My team has tons of files, and if I had to sift through our entire structure every time I needed the ones I was working on, it would make using box extremely tedious.

basically having a "user configurable" view for selected folders is the "end goal" as well as being able to re-size that left "side pane". having it a fixed width and not being able to adjust to see longer folders names... sucks...big time

This is possible in my version of BoxSync - I have BoxSync for Windows v4.0.79

Some users have been requesting this lately. They would like to see the same feature in Box Sync, where they get to choose what folders to sync. To the users this makes their Windows Explorer a much more organized place.

This would be a HUGE help. I need to be able to preview lots of documents at a time, so if I could choose which ones to sync and keep on my desktop app, it would save TONS of time so that I wouldn't have to open each document since Box Drive only caches a certain amount.

Yes! I want to choose what shows up on my desktop app. Like box Sync, where only the folders you choose show up. The offline feature only keeps it from updating. The folder is still there. I have TONS of shared folders that I don't need to see all the time. I don't need them clogging up my Drive Explorer window.

This would be a huge help to some of our user base. Some users are inundated with collaborated folders and don't need to stream their entire Box Workspace.
This is a different request than the ability to 'Make Available Offline'.

This is already possible. I can right click a folder inf File Explorer, and select the Make Available Offline option. What version of Box drive do you have installed? I have 2.3.175.
