Initiate retention time period on content Based on Metadata / Attributes Upon Upload (Migration) to Box
For example, when content is uploaded to Box, applying a 7 year retention policy to content, but basing it off the last modified or created date. In this scenario, the 7 year policy would apply to the content, but it would not live for 7 years in Box - it would like for 7 years from the last modified/created date.

Allow Searching by Last Name - Invite Collaborators / Email Shared Link / Comment @Mentions
In the Invite Collaborators modal (and other locations such as the Comment composer), Box's autocomplete feature only allows the user to search by either email address and/or first AND last name.
Meaning for user John Doe with email jdoe@box.com, a search for...
--"John D" will populate correctly
--"jdoe" will populate correctly
--"Doe" will NOT populate correctlyREQUEST: Allow searching by last name (without having to enter first name before).
22 votesThank you for submitting this request. We’re pleased to announce that we have added support for searching by last name and email address when sharing from the Box web application. We hope to expand this functionality to our comments support in a future release.

Publish Web App Release Notes to Box Community
Release notes for the webapp to show changes which impact User experience (i.e. - a significant look/feel change to a part of the UI, or a functionality/behaviour change) to be included here: https://community.box.com/t5/Release-Notes/tkb-p/releasenotes
Doing this will allow Box customers to identify changes quickly and decide themselves about which users it will impact and whether or not they need to communicate it to their users.
This will also help Box customers to triage themselves whether a change they identify is a bug or expected.
0 votesThank you for this suggestion! We have enhanced how we track Release Notes in Community.

We support two written variations of the Chinese language: Simplified Chinese (for Mainland China) and Traditional Chinese (for Taiwan). Please check them out and let me know if they don’t satisfy your requirements. Admins can configure default language settings for their users under Admin Console → Enterprise Settings → User Settings → New User Defaults. Admins can also change the language for their own accounts under personal settings.

Allow administrative "As-User' calls to bypass steps that require user intervention, such as accepting Custom Terms of Service.
As-User calls made by an admin, on behalf of the user, should not require any end user interaction to work. This supports API driven administration prior to making Box available to end users, which is common when deploying at scale or performing data migrations.
In particular, non-acceptance of Custom Terms of Service and Uncompleted Email Verification currently cause such calls to fail until the end user takes action to complete them.
makes the migration process overly complex.7 votesGreat feedback. Currently, there is no Email Verification required today for app users, and we do have a Terms of Service API: developer.box.com/reference#terms-of-service-object

'Email Shared Link' - Allow Searches to Include Spaces
The 'email shared link' feature (in the Shared Link pop-up) does not allow the user to enter a space when typing in the name/email field, meaning a user cannot type someone's first and last name to narrow down to exactly who they want.

Add "FOLDER.TRASHED" event trigger to Webhooks v2
The existing event trigger "FOLDER.DELETED" only triggers a notification when a folder is permanently removed (deleted from Trash). Currently, there is no option to receive a webhook notification if a folder is sent to the trash. "FOLDER.MOVE" does not capture this action either.

"Move User's Folder" - Add Unique Value (Email) to Name of Newly-Created Folder
When using the 'Move User's Folder' API call, Box will automatically move all the specified user's owned content into a newly-created folder in the target location named "[DisplayName]'s Files and Folders". The issue is that in large organizations, displaynames are not unique at all, which makes these folders hard to identify.
REQUEST: Add email address (which is a unique identifier in most organizations) to the name of the automatically-created folder to make the name something like: "[DisplayName] ([emailaddress])'s Files and Folders"
