1. Support for Multiple Upload Zones in Box Forms + Relay

   Summary:
   Enable the creation of multiple, distinct file upload zones within a single application or embed experience—for example, within a Box Doc Gen-powered form or workflow.

   Details:
   Today, applications built with Box’s Form capabilities typically support a single upload zone or file request area. This limits the ability to organize incoming files contextually during intake or data collection workflows.

   We’re requesting support for multiple upload zones in the same app or form—each mapped to a different folder, metadata tag, or Doc Gen trigger.

   Example Use Case – Box Doc Gen for Application Processing:
   Imagine a form that uses Box Doc Gen to generate a PDF application. The process includes:

   Zone 1: “Upload Supplemental Documents”

   Applicant uploads income verification, letters of recommendation, etc.

   Files are tagged or routed to a designated folder with metadata "doc_type = supplemental"

   Zone 2: “Upload Copies of Records”

   Applicant uploads prior case files or records

   Files are routed with metadata "doc_type = records" or to a different subfolder

   This could then change the views in Box Apps and other locations to trigger workflows.

   Not a priority. Will revisit in 6 months.

4. File request: add the ability to pre-populate fields

   It would be great if there would be a way to pre-populate the fields of a file request with "known-information" if available.

   This would allow us to reuse a single file request in a portal, but set the metadata on the uploaded documents, based on the current user's context. Content can then be routed in the Box system based on the metadata set.

   While we continue to track this idea on our roadmap, we don't have a current plan to introduce this capability in the short/medium term.

5. Device Trust Whitelisting

   Provide ability to whitelist devices while Device Trust is enabled. We would like to enable Device Trust requiring both Domain and Certificate. But we also have lab hosts that are not domain members or have issued certificates. We would like to be able to allow hosts not meeting the Device Trust settings to login.

6. The "File Request" function available not only to the managed users but also to external users.

   We'd like to see the "File Request" function available not only to the managed users but also to external users.
   If possible, we'd like this setting to be able to be done by folder from "Folder Settings".

   We are confident that this feature will expand the use of Box even further.

7. Ability to remove collections from mobile

   Ability to remove collection on mobile

   Mobile Application doesn't allow users to remove collection. Users need to remove it from Box WebApp at this moment. It would be better to remove it within the mobile application.

   Thanks for the suggestion – this is not currently planned on our roadmap.

8. Upload Completion Notification

   I love how I am notified when a set of files are uploaded into a specific folder but I am having one very key issue. I will receive the notification upon upload, but many times because it is 10+ large images, the images are not done uploading. I will review the folder but be unaware that the Upload is not complete. I may see 5 images with 5 still uploading.

   Is there a way Box could show us of upload progress? OR possibly send a second notification when the upload is complete?

9. Tale over the settings in shield trial mode

   Currently, the trial mode classification and settings will disappear at the end of the trial period.
   If we have a Shield contract, we would like to take over its classification and settings.

   By eliminating the need to set them up again in the production environment, we can make a smooth transition.

    We don’t currently plan to provide such an API, however please leave a comment if you have more information about how this would be used. In the interim, you can identify all of a user’s collaborations by requesting items in the user’s root folder (id = 0) and filtering out those where the owned_by user is the current user. This would require an additional API call for each item to get the collaboration id, but if you are only interested in knowing which items re collaborated versus owned by the user, it may be sufficient for your purposes.

11. Box CLI - need more output options for folders:items.

    Specific to "box folders:items" but probably other commands as well:

    1) If I'm asking for --csv, AND specifying the fields via --fields=, I don't need a header telling me the fields I just requested. I'd like an option to disable the header, or default disable it and make me add it back.

    2) If I'm asking for specific fields as --csv, give me just those fields. If I'm asking for --fields=id I don't want it served back to me as "folder,#", I don't want to know it's a folder. If I later do something against that ID that is not compatible with it being a folder, let me handle that.

    3) Same as above, but for --json, just give me id:#, not type:folder and id:#

    Hello,

    We are not planning on changing --csv or --json behaviour in CLI.

    Fields ID and Type are returned by API by default and  removing them from the CLI would mean to modify the existing CLI behaviour.

12. Contents Security should report the cause of policy violation

    When [Contents Security] catches a policy violation, Box tells the name of policy only.   So Box users need to find the violation data though the file.   If Box can explain a detail point of violation, it will help users to understand and find the cause of violation quickly and easily.

    Thanks for this idea! We are not currently planning to add this functionality to the mobile app but will update this thread if that changes in future.

14. Edit PDF's natively in iOS app and Save as Flattened PDF

    We currently use onedrive only to edit PDF's via our ipad using the apple pencil. It would be great if we didn't have to do this in onedrive and could just use Box. Especially as Box is our cloud drive.

    One step better than onedrive's features would be that after editing the PDF with the apple pencil, then have the ability to save the pdf as a flattened PDF file. This is a great feature for signing documents and would improve workflow greatly.

15. Action Failed: Unsupported Name - no file path shown in tool tip

    For Box Drive errors where 'Action Failed: Unsupported Name' - the tool tip on hovering over the filename shows 'Unsupported Name on OS’, instead of the full file path (such as with 'Rename File Failed: Name Is Already Taken').

16. show full details of a file when integrated in finder

    when viewing a file in a finder window (mac) I cannot view the details such as dimensions of an image. this is an extremely valuable feature for designers and developers using box to store their files.

    This is not currently planned, but we’d love to hear more use cases to help with the prioritization of this request!

17. API to sync folders for users.

    If we could sync folders directly through our internal web app it would cut several steps out of user workflows. I would love to put a sync slider next to the job line so they could sync directly from this screen.

    Specifically, I am talking about leveraging the tools via APIs. So having an API we could leverage to sync folders down for users.

    This request cannot practically be implemented as an API. A client needs to control the state of local items on an endpoint such as a user’s computer, much like the Box Drive or Box Mobile clients do today. The only planned supported means for such synchronization capabilities are the Box Drive and Mobile clients.

18. Save the default view for STL files on upload

    We would like the ability to save the default view for STL files to save the orientation, render mode, and camera projection within the web preview

    We used to be able to save the default view for STL files within a Box3d Metadata of the file. We no longer have that ability.
