False positives detections are a possibility with any malware detection tool. At Box, we want to make sure our customers have controls to manage alerts that are generated and stop any unnecessary noise. We have some additional detection filters for our malware detection rule on the proposed roadmap for this year.

I now understand that this apparent flaw in User Activity Reports, was only due to DELAY in information appearing in the reports.
When Box Drive is used to Ctrl C and Ctrl V content - either Box folder to Box folder, or Box folder to desktop, the activity will appear almost immediately if VIEW is selected whilst creating a UAR.
If the UAR is RUN, there is a 24 hour delay before the actions will appear on UAR - so the UAR should NOT be run until 24 hours after the activity has taken place

Agreed - with a considerable number of data owners, folder paths, subfolders, this report needs the filter of document type to also have a filter to select folders ONLY.
Whilst doing this, the report could benefit from identifying the number of documents IMMEDIATELY within each folder (ie not subfolders)
That way, when listing all the folders, you could sum the number of documents to get a total of the number of files within those folders
