Box Drive does support co-editing in iWork, but doesn’t support it for any other application type, as it’s dependent on the application vendor.

This is not something that we have on the roadmap for the foreseeable future. Notifications were suppressed for these items and we will be investigating different ways to make problem items in general more discoverable.

This is a must have feature for most businesses. Now that users have a taste of simultaneous editing with either on-prem file servers, SharePoint, or One Drive, they expect it from Box as well. Office Online isn't enough, when most users execute their interaction with these files via desktop applications.
